This stream made me go download MUGEN and download the Rare Akuma character. Watching Akuma do the three or so different variations (in supers) is amazing. Also, I did a match on my own that was rare akuma versus rare akuma... That is totally random.

Curse you, Jeff. Roping me into this. I was aware of SaltyBets during EVO, but didn't pay much attention to it. The fact that the matches just keep going, and going (coupled with how crazy the match-ups are with MUGEN) makes it very addictive. Forever seeking that elusive upset.

Man, this Twitch chat is un-fucking-bearable. I had to disable it, since everyone regurgitates the same tired ass memes 24/7. At least the GB chat is OCCASIONALLY funny.

@charaznable: The only amusing thing about the chat is when they freak out about the Snake Eater song coming on. Other than that it really is just terrible.

As far as the Twitch Chat, it hasn't been that bad outside of one guy who's been throwing out a broad mix of misogyny, rape jokes, and saying he's glad Ryan died, alongside daring people to ban him. Or maybe the rest of the chat just doesn't seem as bad compared to that guy? The point is, it's been mostly normal.

The Twitch chat's mostly just noise that I find entertaining to use as a reference to what the general thought of the current craziness that is happening on screen is.

Can we make a GB Salty Steam group or something? I've turned off the horrible twitch chat, but I'd like some kind of feedback on the nonsense I'm seeing and losing money on.

The worst part is thinking you'll know the right choice for every battle because you used to dabble with mugen..... years ago! I know nothing anymore and my e-pocket shows it.

@chiablo: Once you watch some you'll start to get a feel for the matchups. And how good/bad characters are.

Well, it's not random and the odds are pretty much in accordance with who people think will win.

A strategy you can use is to bet the opposite of whoever the Twitch chat is saying to bet for because mind games are aplenty there. Other than that, I guess it's paying attention to character names and design as well as trends (such as all characters with card silhouettes being extremely powerful).

Things that I learned this past salty session

-Card captor characters are just op

-Super 8 can be aggressive all he wants, but he just does crap for damage. He has both taken me to the salt mines and dragged me out of them.

-Bison is weird, sometimes he is super aggressive and other times he just sits back and takes a beating

-if a character can charge power dbz style they will prioritize that before anything else. Was sent to the mines a few times because I just didnt know some characters had the ability to charge up and that cost me.

-Always try to remember if a character was at least aggressive in a fight for future reference. Super soldier has a dumb AI, but he is aggressive and does his super often. invisible woman is aggressive and seems to do super as often as she can, but her damage is lacking.

-I have yet to see a decent chrono trigger character other than lavos spawns.

@charaznable: Uppercut, unless he's fighting a boss sized dragon thing. I dunno, I was away from my computer and came back to the very end of that.

Alien Queen is near unbeatable. Dunno About Lavos Spawn. Killer Whale is unbeatable, I'm sure.

Shishio is ridiculously fast; Kanna is an oppressive, damaging zoner; and G Rugal is God Rugal, a strong all-around character.

Rare Akuma, Lavos, and Killer Whale I think are the three strongest I've seen, though. Like Takaya, I also wonder if they are even beatable.

Has Blob (the good one, not the 1HP one) gone up against any god-tier chars yet? I'm curious to see how that would go.
