I was thinking ranking of fighters, even if its mostly taken for fun, should still rank games with some baseline of everything being unlocked if feasible with a code, or memory card data. (fans could send in data). Particularly worried games like Power Stone 2 (if it even gets ranked since it may be under the rug for comparisons to Smash bros and not being a serious fighter) will get shat on since the realistic representation of why people like that game is from +100 weapons unlocked and 4 players teaming or vs. A bunch of new people will play it, see the simple controls, scuff at it for being easy, rush the stones, say stones are unbalanced, etc. Though I never saw a youtube play the game and quickly pronounce it as trash for said gameplay misconceptions.
I saw a ton of comments that some games are better with more characters unlocked and some know-how of the basics. Games like Marvel vs Capcom, or street fighter get a leg up with characters unlocked from day one and tons of nostalgia and button memory for those general game types. I know it's not important but I can see/do see this list used for discussions and comparisons on other sites. If it continues and there are about 300 games, I could see it being important under the banner of an official gaming press/influencer/entertainment site. "not sure what this site is falling under these days ha"
