I didn't have the heart to tell them I literally have no interest in buying physical media. I mentioned that I wanted Far Cry 3 but put Steam wallet money on my list and they gave EB Games cards.

What I'm wondering is, will I actually have to put a disc in my computer (gross) or can Far Cry 3 be redeemed for digital download via Ubisoft's thing? Or does EB Games sell digital versions online (doesn't look like it)?

Also, wasn't sure if this should be in off-topic (or the PC forum).

You install Far Cry 3 off a disc but then never need it again. You can download it from Ubisoft's Uplay if you want it later and don't need the disc in the drive to play it.

Just use it to get Steam cards.

@DarthOrange: @SethPhotopoulos: I wish I could just buy Steam cards; they don't have those in Canada or I would have asked for that instead.

@wemibelec90: That's a relief... so after I install off the disc I don't have to keep the disc in the drive to play it?

@Chrjz: That sucks. They don't even have download codes? I guess just installing the disc once is fine.

@SethPhotopoulos: U.S.A is the only place with Steam cards as far as I know... I'm not sure what you mean by download codes (like buying digital copies)?

If it's just an install and then I don't have to look at the disc ever again I'm okay with that; in fact if it alleviates some of the pressure off my bandwidth cap then that's a bonus.

@Chrjz: Nope, once you have the game installed, you never need the disc to play it. I got a physical copy and it worked just fine (besides the 9 crashes in the two hours I've played... THE FUCK.)

@xobballox: Thanks for the confirmation... looks like I'll have to actually go into an EB Games again (the horror)! Do you have the latest 310.70 drivers (if you have an Nvidia card)? If not that might fix your crashes; if so then try rolling back.
