This is strange but Steam Big Picture just opened randomly about 12:30am (UK time) and checking on Twitter it did the same for alot of other people. Has anyone else had this happen to them just now.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Edit: Plus their site just went down. I think there's a conspiracy afoot.

This seems like an early start to some E3 mysteries.

Maintenance and then something probably bugged out, it happens.

.. or maybe it's ghosts and goblins trying to ruin our games.
You know, just to add something to the E3 mysteries thing :P

Valve just wants to get in on this "Living Room Hub" frenzy MS and Sony keep talking about.

@zeforgotten: But does that mean they have the power to instantaneously launch Big Picture mode from their end without our consent?

What else do they have control of?

Our... MINDS?!

@arjybarjy: It started with control over our money, now it's our PCs.
So I think the next thing is if you're wearing a headset or have expensive audio equipment it will transfer sonic waves into your head and they will then have direct control over all of our actions.

So, nothing to worry about! We're all in good hands. We all like Valve. They are good masters. Good humans... good, money, give.. to valve. must do.. give money to valve or die...

Ten minutes after it happened it decided to update Dota 2. I am going to say it's Dota 2's fault.

Yeah, this happened to me last light... ran multiple cleaning programs immediately afterward to see if it was caused by some other malicious program. I don't remember what time it happened though, but I was certainly away from my keyboard then.

I can confirm the existenceof the big picture bug based on personal experience. Totally froze my comp for a while.

I thought Steam picture was a good concept, however its execution leads something to be desired. It is not consistent, if you are on a big screen TV you still need to come to the PC to see simple things such as achievements (as the pop ups are still tiny), whisper friends (Friends list UI is still tiny) and a couple of other things are a still a bit small, but I cannot remember off the top of my head.

I am looking forward to seeing it adapt more and evolve though, its a very good idea and a nice gate way for a console : )
