I'm going to re-post something I included in this thread.
Best Family Game: With the rise of the Wii, I think that there is room for an award dedicated to games that can be enjoyed by both hardcore gamers, their non-gamer friends, and the younger set. This award honors those games.
Best Creation Game: Unless you count, you know, actually using map editors or *gasp* doing some coding, the genre of games built around creation is a relatively new phenomenon. It has seen some definite popularity int he last year, so it has its own award.
Best Narrative vs. Best Story: Narrative is the way a story is told, whereas the best story award is based on what that story is, including characters and plot points.
Best Use of Motion Controls: Love them or hate them (hint: you hate them) motion controls are here to stay. This award shows respect for games that manage to accomplish something meaningful with the technology.
Best original game (or possibly a remake, see below) that best evokes a feeling of nostalgia. So straight up rereleases don't count, as to wether or not significantly changed remakes count or not, I leave that up to you. Scott Pilgrim, and possibly Golden Eye and Pac Man CE DX are strong contenders.
Best movie game/Best multimedia franchise game. There are a lot of low cards in this hand, but it needs to be done. Besides, Scott Pilgrim is actually really good.
Worst Missed Opportunity for Use of Nolan North in a Game Worst Use of a Meme in a Game Most Intelligence Insulting Dialogue in a Game Most Typical Anime Looking Dude in a Japanese Game
Worst Versimilitude: The game may have an elaborate narrative set against a rich, detailed world, but then weird shit happens that completely breaks your suspension of disbelief.
- Most prolific use of rotors in a game - The Official Stride Gum Award For Xtreme Advertising Excellence - Best Use of a Buddy System - Best Urban/Rap Group - Most Likely To Sell Toys At Christmas (AKA The George Lucas Memorial Award) - Most Likely To Succeed - Best Game To Be Compared To God Of War - Best Use Of Extras
