Sum your 2022 gaming plans in 1 or 2 words or a short phrase. 2022 The Year of the *blank*

For me it is the Year of the Replay. 2021 was the Year of the 2D game because i couldn't get my hands on a new console. I didn't really finish many 2D games but i was able to channel my purchases into being more 2D.

For 2022 that i'm most interested in are:

Suicide Squad

Lord of the Rings Gollum

Gotham Knights

Starfield

Tiny Tinas Wonderland

This has inspired me to replay the following games because I will not be buying or playing the 2022 titles until i can secure a series-X or PS5 (whichever comes my way first):

Arkham Knights

Batman Telltale Game

Borderlands 2

Sunset Overdrive

Borderlands 3

Final Fantasy XV

I'm also thinking about buying a dualsense for my PS3 and playing a ton of PS1 titles on that.

This year I was pretty successful at playing physical PS3 games (until new releases started really kicking off) so my 2022 is going to be PS2, since my PS2 drawer is completely full. Also gonna probably either start dipping into DQ or Ys. I don't plan on getting a PS5 until there's a bunch of games I actually want, so I hope that transition period lasts a nice long time for the sake of my poor backlog, lol.

Like every year 2022 shall be "The year of buying the previous years big releases at a stupidly big discount". Snappy.

My most anticipated games for 2022 games are:

• BTCC The Game 2022
• Gran Turismo 7
• Forza Motorsport Reboot

The only unconfirmed 2022 game that I would really love to see is F1 2022.

Finish a Zelda. And Monster Hunter World.

I like the idea of avoiding "dark patterns" in gaming, and just focusing on wholesome shit. Not that it's a major issue for me, but at one point I found myself grinding daily challenges for a long time each day with little/no enjoyment, and I had to force myself to stop playing those games.

Also being conscious of what gaming forums I'm going to, and their effect on my mindset. Some communities have a habit of encouraging backwards, "armchair expert" ideas, and I've really gotten burnt out on that.

Tangent aside, just more of a focus on healthy gaming, pausing/quitting when I want, playing quality titles with lots of cool dudes, frequently thoughtful/long-form forums and news outlets.

Year of The Witcher...including finishing the books. That was supposed to be this past year for me, but it didn't work out. God, those books are boring. At least the first couple are. I never finished the third game, so I restarted from the beginning. I'm at the very end of the first game now.

Like @creepingdeath0 mentions, it will also be the year of last year's game discounts.

2021 was the Year of Meh, since I didn't play a single game I thought was great. A lot of the GOTY lists are just depressing to read this year.

So I guess 2022 will be the Year of Better Games Hopefully? Either that or the Year of NFT Hell.

The year in which i will make a better attempt to get through some of those epic freebies instead of sticking to the same game for way too long.

Same thing as last year. Gonna finally finish A Link to the Past.

When that fails for whatever reason I'll do my best to keep up with new releases that interest me, stare wistfully at my backlog before saying "fuck it I'll just go watch Giantbomb"

2022's a year that will begin and end with Total Warhammer: the Third.

The Year of the "Maybe I'll play a game released this year for a change?"

Looking ahead at 2022, I was surprised that there isn't much that really excites me for new games. So it might become the Year of the Bucket List, where I make some forward progress in my backlog for once.

2022, my year of break and maybe backlog. Nothing to look forward to for me, personally.

2022 Year of Baldurs Gate(3). I'm looking for to that just slightly more than Elden Ring. I really hope it's actually coming out early next year.

Year of the Backlog for me. Not much of the 2022 lineup interests me besides Baldur's Gate 3 and Starfield, and I've got plenty of games I already own to play across Xbox, PS4, Switch, and PC, so I'm planning to limit my gaming purchases and focus on what I own. We'll see how that goes!

2022 is the year of Maybe Eventually Buying an Xbox Thing, if Starfield is as good as I hope it is.
