Sorry if this is already posted (I searched and couldn't find anything) but Super Meat Boy is on sale on steam!
Currently 33% off ($9.99 USD) if you preorder it before the 30th. At least I assume that's when the sale ends.
Anyway, here's the link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/40800/
Super Meat Boy on Sale on Steam!
I'd say it'll be around for xmas for sure. If you don't like getting pissed, then don't get this. This is for people who like to solve things by basically smashing their head against it till it works. I guess you could get skilled at this game, but it's more fun to run around like a suicidal maniac till you get lucky.
" Serious question,- My "Steam senses" tell me that this game will be about 50% off during the holiday sale
The last 2d platforming I played was LBP2 Beta, and I'm not a fan of being pissed off most the time.
"
- Chances this goes on sale for Christmas?
- Worth playing with 360 d-pad on PC?
- Probably
Question to all those who buy on PC: What gamepad will you use for this? I don't know much about the available PC controllers and this game practically requires one.
I've played quite a bit of Super Meat Boy on the 360, and it's a fantastic game. I can boast all day long about my Ghosts and Goblins "credentials" and this game still routinely humbles me. I think I'm at a ~3500 death count, and I only just now finished the Dark World to the Salt Factory.

Google "motioninjoy" to find out how to get the awesome free program. Tested did an article way back showing how to make it work, but the site's tutorials are way better.

Quick question to people who have already played this .. can it be played with the Analog sticks instead of the d-pad ? And if so, which one do you think gives better control ? I have a Nyko gamepad . was wondering if it would be good enough.
I still don't have my new computer yet, but I already preordered the game. Thank goodness for the 33% off, now I have a little bit more money in my steam wallet for the inevitable Christmas sale.

I'll just be playing with the keyboard, myself. Been playing 2D platformers on the PC with a keyboard since the early 90's, and I don't find arrow keys to be any less competent than a D-pad for them.
I don't know if I'll buy it on PC. I already have it on 360. The LIVE Achievements are a HUGE incentive in this game :P I think I'll wait a few months, to see how DLC and custom levels are managed on PC before getting it.
PS: I'm using the analog stick on 360 and it plays perfectly fine. I did use the D-Pad for more "precise" levels... (The Guy! levels 1, 2 and 3, that is).
" @Famov said:I found the XBOX D-Pad fine for Super Meat Boy. The D-Pad only really runs into issues when you're trying to combine two directions, or go from left/right to up/down, but since you're only using left or right, it works fine. Had no issues at all, and I have all achievements save for the 100% one." Question to all those who buy on PC: What gamepad will you use for this? Bought this right when the "sale" was announced (Nothing new for steam, pre-orders are usually always cheap, so big woop)
So now I have both the 360 and PC version.. I must beat it everywhere!
Haven't even beaten the 360 version yet since there are so many other games I need to play too and can't find the time to play this tiny little game.
But one day, the game will be finished. Oh yes, it will be finished.
No, it probably won't be on sale at Christmas. If it is, it will be no more than the 33% off that it currently is. Team Meat were talking about their reasons for doing the $5 off deal on XBLA, and they said it was because they originally wanted to do a big deal at christmas, but decided that offering it at a lower price so soon after launch would be a big kick in the nuts for early purchasers. So they decided to offer it at a discount at launch, and then increase the price. I would assume they have a similar "don't screw over your early adopters" ideology with regards to steam Christmas sales." @KaosAngel said:
