Over the weekend I noticed that I've topped 100 hours in Men of War: Assault Squad. I was trying to think of other games that I've put that kind of time into and not very many came to mind. Here is what I came up with.

1. Half-Life: Counter-Strike

Freshman in college in the dorms with fast internet. Ping < 5. What else can I say? Playtime tapered off after I was kicked out my clan because they thought my brother was cheating.

2. Battlefield 2

My brothers and I poured countless hours into this game. Well, I guess they were counted. According to bf2s.com I played 170 hours, my older brother played 280 hours, and my younger brother played 500+ hours.

3. Final Fantasy VI

I've beaten this one at least three times. The first time I maxed out all the characters in the dinosaur forest. I'm hoping it will someday come out on the DS so I can play it again.

4. Men of War: Assault Squad

Over 100 hours into this one and I still get my ass kicked in multiplayer and cannot for the life of me beat most of the skirmish maps on normal difficulty.

There might be others that should be on the list that I'm not sure about: Super Mario Kart, Final Fantasy IV, Chrono Trigger, Forza 2, Forza 3.

And other games of note: Empire: Total War (60 hrs), Dawn of War II (40 hrs) + Chaos Rising (20 hrs).

What's on your Century List?

Only three that I can think of:

Resonance of Fate

Final Fantasy III (VI)

Fallout 3

I platinumed RoF and Fallout 3, and I got every character up to level 99 in FF III because I liked the game so much and didn't really have anything else to play at the time.

Good call, I have Borderlands on disc and I've been through it twice. Probably over 100h for me too.

Only one's that come to mind right now are Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.

I must have spent 100+ hours in the Foundry map in Halo 3 alone. I played so many fucking custom games.

Does my blog count? No? I'd say Paper Mario: The Thousand year Door, but I don't think it counts if you're too lazy to turn off your Gamecube. Also, how the crap do you spend over 100 hours with Chrono Trigger?

World of Warcraft has given me about 8-9000 hours only counting the 10 characters I played most frequently when I last played which is quite a lot I think, but in retrospect I do believe it would have been better to devote this time to become good at some other game like Street Fighter.

Other than that, the games I can think of are:

SFIV (130 vanilla, ~250 Super, ~10 AE)
Jak 3
Crysis 1
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Warcraft 3
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Team Fortress 2
Call of Duty 4 & Modern Warfare 2
Minecraft
Counter Strike 1.6 (Played much more before Steam started tracking it, only have 20 hours on it since then)
League of Legends
Halo 3

Quite a list if I may say so myself, and these certainly are games that I feel I could spend another 100 hours with.

Also, time flies when playing MGS: PW. Haven't completed the story yet, but I'm at about 40 hours played. Don't know about the replay value, but I certainly wouldn't mind making it join the 100 club.

It only takes a few playthroughs, unless you skip to the end at the beginning.

Fallout 3 and Borderlands I have definitely put upwards of 300 hours each into. New Vegas, I also have probably close to 200 hours in. And with the amount of times I've played through Half-Life 2, I'm willing to bet that I've spent over 100 hours with that, too.

  • Final Fantasy Tactics (300+)
  • Killzone 2 (300+)
  • Dragon Age: Origins (~200)

I think I'm approaching 100 hours in Starcraft 2, but I can't find anywhere where it tells you how much time you've logged in...

Officially, Team Fortress 2, Terraria, and Wii Sports. Unofficially, SimCity 2000, 3000, and 4, Roller Coaster Tycoon 1, 2, and 3, Earthbound, probably Zelda: Ocarina of Time, maybe Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Games like Earthbound and Ocarina of Time, I've finished multiple times.

And The Sims... multiplied by 3.

The only one I know for certain is Oblivion (I've spent over a week of my life doing nothing but play Oblivion). Morrowind, Star Wars Battlefront 2 PSP, Age of Empires III and Guild Wars are all probably up there as well. Just Cause 2 is also pretty close, at about 80 hours.

Wow, do I ever have eclectic tastes or what?

@gpbmike: I finished writing the post for the bug reporting forum, tested it one last time, and it worked, so I guess it was just having an off day.

Yeah works now.

Games I've put over 100 hours in to.

1. Pokémon Platinum

Even though it was the same as Pearl but with a few changes, about 230 hours. I started training Pokémon up competitively, although I never once battled anyone.

2. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Man I got so much darned enjoyment out of this game. About 160 hours all in all.

3. Pokémon Diamond/Pearl

Something like 150 hours, of Pearl.

4. Final Fantasy VII

Tbf when this came it out it was incredible, and I was only a young lad. I dunno, 120 hours over multiple play-throughs.

5. Final Fantasy XII

However much people moan about this game, I preferred it to most of the others, about 110 hours with this, and I am sure there was a shit load left to do.

6. Minecraft

The greatest time-sink ever.

7. Gran Turismo 2

This game was (almost) the pinnacle of my PlayStation days. It's been a while, but definitely over 100 hours.

8. Gran Turismo 5

This only came out like 4 months ago, but I am pretty sure I have spent over 4 days of my life playing this game.

9. Modern Warfare 2

I got hooked on the multi-player, not gonna lie. Just over 100 hours.

  • Ultima Online
  • World of Warcraft
  • Wurm Online
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 3
  • Harvest Moon 64
  • Super Smash Bros.
  • Diddy Kong Racing 64
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Halo 3

Ultima Online probably well over 300+ hours.

Wurm Online being the last game I played on that list.

  • The whole Super Smash Bros. series
  • Pokemon
  • Morrowind
  • Oblivion
  • Dragon Age: Origins
  • Call of Duty 4 (according to time played I've played that game for over 800 hours)
  • Modern Warfare 2
  • Mass Effect
  • Mass Effect 2
  • Diablo 2
CoD4 and D2 being the most hours I've put into a game by far.

Let's see...

  • Halo: Combat Evolved
  • Halo 2
  • Halo 3
  • Halo: Reach
I think that might be it, actually. I know I've put a lot of time into a lot of games, but I don't think I've put over four days into anything that didn't say "Halo" on it. Maybe SSBM or CoD4, they have to be close at least, but other than those I normally don't get passed 60 hours with even the largest games before moving on.

Diablo 2

World Of Warcraft

Starcraft

Oblivion

Disgaea

Boarderlands

Off the top of my head those are the major ones that come to mind. I'm sure there's more from longer ago that I put way too much time into. Also probably Minecraft.

In no particular order:

Final Fantasy VII & X

Final Fantasy Tactics (in its PS1 and PSP forms)

Elder Scrolls III & IV

Disgaea 2 & 3

Lord of the Rings Online

Fallout 3 and New Vegas

I'm sure I'll be topping 100 in Civ 5 soon, and I know without a doubt I'll be spending as much time as I can with Skyrim.

Yeah....within the first 3 weeks of release I probably played 100 hours easily....had a lax work schedule back in 2009. Could have done it in 2 weeks if AC2 had not come out. Then came the glitches and exploits and eventually other games piqued my interest.

NHL99 on PC was another game I played a lot.

I have over 320 DAYS played in EverQuest.

That's over 7680 hours.

I could probably come up with others in my collection over 100 hours, but they would pale in comparison.
