The Community Spotlight 2019.12.14

Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight, and as always, I, @zombiepie, am honored to your host this week! Well, after a decent bit of joking around, we are properly in dregs of GOTY. Be aware, many staff members are on vacation, and as such, the amount of content coming out will be less than what many of you have become accustomed to in recent years. Additionally, some members of the design and engineering staff have begun their winter breaks, so, bug requests will necessitate a bit more patience in the coming weeks.

I love reading the community’s top games’ lists every year and once again we have some great write ups and lists this year! Though looking at these lists early on, I think community GOTY might be between Control and Fire Emblem 3 Houses.

Why do you write they and them when referring to singular people? English is not my first language, but I thought they and them were only used when talking about more than one person.

@melondog: They/Them can be used as a singular gender neutral pronoun as long as the antecedent is unspecified.
