The Community Spotlight 2020.09.19

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight and I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at the best creative offerings form the Giant Bomb Community! Alright, so, the CNET sale news certainly has a lot of people "on the edge," but please be aware, as the staff have said time and time again, they are still waiting on further clarification from their higher-ups on what this means. Down below in the housekeeping section you will find links to a handful of helpful resources on what Jeff and other news outlets are saying. Luckily, Spelunky 2 came out and the expected hijinks have graced the site. If you have not seen it already, check out the end of the site's Quick Look for the game because it is AMAZING! Also, and this is a bit of a request to those of you who enjoy reading this feature but do not comment, please comment with your support. The past handful of weeks a majority of the people commenting on the Spotlights have been spambots, so, let's come together to fix that! Anyways, let's jump into the site

• Spawn On Me with Kahlief Adams will be joined by Alex and Brad to raise money to help VoteRiders, a non-profit whose mission is to ensure that all citizens are able to exercise their right to vote.
• Even if you missed the stream on Sunday, Drew Scanlon (aka Blinking White Guy) is raising money for multiple sclerosis research! Help them smash their goal, whatever that may be at the time you read this!
• Vinny posted a TON of updates on the Giant Bomb Goings-On thread you should check out if you have not done so already!

I've got 2 kids now and can't keep up. I look forward to this every week to get a summary of what happened, thanks Zombiepie!

I always find the first section of the Spotlight very useful. Site goings on, official news, reminders about current tech issues, news on upcoming changes, and so on.

However, to be honest, I totally ignore anything after that. The parts about community posts, blogs, wikis, whatever. I appreciate the sentiment and idea, and cannot even imagine how much effort it must take to compile it all. It's still not for me, and I can only hope there are enough others excited by it to make all the energy spent on it worthwhile.

I enjoy reading this feature and I am not a spambot.

I usually check them for the multimedia fan ART but I didn't know about the Bioforge blog and Drew's stream so it's nice to catch up.

Even though I'm not technically a synthetic I would probably align more with Legion than Tali (I don't mind having both around, though).

This Spotlight is always a brilliant way for me to catch up on the things I may have missed. Even though I consume most of the content Giantbomb produces, there's always something that I've missed that this spotlight highlights.

I love the Community Spotlight! The GB Community is VAST and there are some wonderfully thoughtful, funny and creative folks among their ranks. This feature is a wonderful way to enjoy some of their work and other highlights of the week, all collected into one page for my perusal and consumption. It's very much appreciated and it'll always have my support!

I strongly support this feature for many of the same reasons that have already been brought to light.
