This is a thread for a game yuo think deserves a 10/10 but did not get one..
I'd say RE4. No one seems to have given that game the respect it deserves. It started changed the standard of really what we call action shooters today.
The game that deserves a 10/10 most...
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune most definitely. Wait maybe not. It's amazing, but not a 10... hmm...
How about... *thinking* ... Wow! ReTarDedFisHy has nothing!!! Dang...
RE4 is a good candidate though, game is phenomenal.
HL2 then? Got some 10s though, like lots of other games I'm thinking about...
Hell yeah, what a hardcore game. That was one of the first real PS2 games that I fell in love with not only for gameplay, uniqueness and artistic design, but because it was actually hard! That's why I love ND, all their games are hardcore.

The story, the art design, the playforming, the shooting, the weapons no one else has done, all of it was extremely godlike.

Yeah, well if a 10 was given out to games that are perfect there would be no game to ever receive it... I think it just means a really really good game, basically. The games I listed for example, may not be a 10, but they are def. a 10 in many peoples eyes.
There's no game worthy of a 10/10, 40/40, 100%, etc. These signify perfection, which should be something to strive towards, not to be handed out when some reviewer really enjoys a game.
Grades and stars are just guidelines though, and I'll happily witness the distribution of A/5* games.
RE4, Metroid Prime and Super Mario Galaxy comes to mind. And FF12 is a 10 in my book but it doesn't appeal to all audiences.
"10/10 is perfection I don't think any game is perfect, there's always something that could be changed to make it better.I agree. There's really no reason to use numbers when doing reviews; they can provide an at a glance summary of the review, and I like how GB's system doesn't say that a 5-star game is perfect. A game's ultimate goal should not be "Get 10/10 from everywhere", it should be "Entertain and inspire EVERYONE." In the end, it doesn't matter what the number is, it's the game.
"
"no game deserves 10/10"
Then we should all just lay down right this second and die.

That's downright ridiculous. "Changing the standard" is the most generic response used when praising a game. What does it usually mean? "I can't really think of anything better to say." For a game with such high scores, Resident Evil 4 has some absurdly clunky controls. Leon displays amazing acrobatics in cutscenes and yet controls with the grace of a tank scaling the Himalayas in-game. How exactly did Resident Evil 4 change the standard? Making everyone lift the over-the-shoulder concept is NOT changing the standard, it's simply popularizing a good idea. RE4 didn't change any standards.

For me a 10 doesn't really have to mean the game is perfect. The game can be so incredible that it deserves the highest rating.
never played a game i felt deserved the highest possible score. people saying 'imperfect' 10's and other such nonsense; try thinking for yourselves. A perfect score denotes a perfect game, don't swallow the enthusiast's media tripe, that's just selling out yourself when they've already sold you out enough.

"Dairyman said:Yeah, I mean if some people go as far to call it one of the greatest games ever, I think one or two problems can be pushed aside to give it a 10... seriously."shadowjak said:I have to say, the controls in RE4 weren't perfect, but I defy you to actually argue that they weren't better than the previous games."
