The game you want a developer to make

What AAA game concept would you like made and by what developer?

My choice would be a game by From Software that is a spiritual sequel to Dark/Demon's Souls, that uses the same dark fantasy and action RPG concepts but is based in a sci-fi fiction. You wake up on a distant planet full of horrific aliens and rogue machines and you can explore the world in a similar way to Dark Souls. You run into various survivors from time to time and you have various weapons and gadgets you can craft out of machine parts you find around the world. And of course awesome boss fights.

So what would you want and by whom?

Rare.

Simple, my dream game was a game like Mass Effect, and then ME came out.lol. Now its a Batman Beyond game done by Rocksteady. Its weird how I can clearly see it running too.

MMO game that plays EXACTLY like Dark Souls. Raid bosses, PVP, dungeons. I would be all over that.

Fallout 4 on the next generation of consoles.

Dead Rising 3 by Gearbox.

A massive Medieval battle game featuring mirrions of troops and strategy and swords and awesome non dynasty-warrior combat and... sigh. It won't happen I know.

A 3D console RPG Pokemon on an HD platform. Made by Level 5 maybe? None of that Colosseum/Stadium bullshit.

A completely remade but to the same level of detail Star Control series. I could see CCP Games, the guys who made EVE Online, do it I guess.

I had a thought about an RPG wizard simulator today. Three or four talent trees with about five spells in each, and a max level of 9 or so. Each level takes on a larger degree of importance when the skill points are more meaningful. Each level would result in a new, powerful spell. Now, if this is a AAA game, you have large branches of the studio working on each spell so that each is unique and super badass with all kinds of uses. I have no suggestions for what these spells would be, but then, I'm not paid for this stuff. I just think a "deflation" of stats and a real focus on unique abilities, which beget various ways to experience the game, would make for a killer combination. 
 
Also, Mirror's Edge 2 and a Jet Force Gemini reboot.

anyways I like your idea quite a bit. I think it would make a pretty fun game. I would play it.

I would also go for something brighter and cleaner though - something like a mix of some of the spirit of exploration from Star Trek and the general look and setting from Mass Effect. Hard sci-fi with a clean, bright look. And you know, give me all those things people hated about mass effect 1 :P planetary surface exploration, something to drive around, a small team to work with. Resource collection. meaningful gear and loot.

Then add maybe some science puzzle mini games. let me markup my own copies of the galaxy and planetary maps, procedurally generate the galaxy and planets from random seeds that you can share with friends. player gear sets and loadouts that are tradeoffs between surviving the planetary conditions and mobility & firepower. Derelict freighters to loot, new tech to discover or research, backwater planets to explore, some combat scenarios on the ground and in orbit. So I guess Skyrim in space with procedural content? Or what I always wanted Eve to be?

Make gear selection and ship mods real, meaningful tradeoffs. not just window dressing or an assumed optimal progression as in ME2. Then add a rogue-like hardcore mode with online leader boards.

I'd love to see some kind of big open-world(s) action-adventure game based on Richard Morgan's Takeshi Kovacs novels, done by Rockstar. Other ideas running through my head include a horror adventure game by Telltale based on Stephen King's The Stand, played with lots of different character perspectives and narratives, and a big open world Bethesda-esque game based on Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn.

Rome 2 Total War, a sequel to Age Of Empires II or Age of Mythology and a Dragon age game that's just as deep and tactical as Dragon Age: Origins.

I want Gearbox to make a Borderlands MMO and a RPG like Dragon Age Origins set in Greek mythology.

I would like Platinum Games to make a No One Lives Forever sequel.

I want the old Maxis team to make Sim City 5.

A new Kirby game by Frictional Games.

Open world zombie FPS or third person action game with tons of buildings you can enter with tons of things to loot. The only objective is to survive for as many days as you can by scavenging and finding places to safely stay for the night. You need to find enough food and such to be able to survive.

I don't care who develops it as long as it's great... but Valve does some pretty kick-ass zombies.

I'm probably alone on this, but I'd love to see From Software make a sequel to Chromehounds with persistent online play like the first one had. I know that Armored Core 5 is coming out soon, but it's just not the same thing.

A dark fantasy horror semi open world RPG with a huge amount of care, attention and depth put into fighting mechanics on the level of a traditional fighting game with absolutely no magic available to the player whatsoever. Emphasis on the combat, a real feeling of weight and physical impact and a biblical amount of gore and olde worlde shouty beard men. Awesome, fucked up central plot with emotion and shit.

Atmosphere, art style, enemies and game world by Fromsoft, story penned by Suda51, fighting system by Ono.

RIP Bizarre Creations.

Here's one of my ideas for a game that I fleshed out a while ago: it's a dynamic, channeled yet open-world, buddy road game. I'd give it to Irrational or Valve with my longshots being Team Ico or a random team lead by Clint Hocking or Jonathan Blow.

There's so many other ideas I'd like to see realised one day - I might get round to blogging about some more of them at some stage.

A good Superman game by Rocksteady. It could work, too, with the new 52 making Superman vulnerable. Or even make it so Superman never dies, but if you let someone die, it's game over.

Okay, I have so many. Here's a few.

A fantasy take on Saints Row by Volition. Imagine an open-world fantasy game with that level of irreverence. Have it be about a team of thieves stealing magical artifacts and enchanted gear so they can go nuts with it.

A really great, Rocksteady-quality, Fantastic Four game with co-op and combo attacks.

A first person Iron Man game from the Bioshock team with HAWX-style jet fighter controls in the air and good fighting with melee and repulsor shots on the ground. It would also use macros for complex compound actions chosen from a radial menu. The suit has an interface, so use it.

An overhaul of Too Human by Platinum Games.

Drakan 3 by CD Projekt Red.

Bungie, Infinity Ward, Treyarch? A new IP, any new IP.

Also, what if a team like Turn 10 or Polyphony made a sci-fi racing game with mech-style customization and cockpit views?
