I don't know if it counts, being DLC, but Bioshock Infinite Burial at Sea Episode 2 was incredible. The last full game I'd give a FIVE STAR MEATBALL SEAL OF APPROVAL (not worth much) to is Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, which I felt was a damn excellent platformer, better than its predecessor and had an awesome soundtrack to boot.
The last ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ game you played?
Most recent... Dark Souls 2, but I'm at the beginning of Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning atm and it seems like it could be pretty fantastic.
Titanfall. There was a moment during the evening where my mind was buzzing with all of the awesome stuff that had happened in that game. There is just something that has grabbed me instantly about Titanfall. I honestly don't think I will have as much fun with any other game this year.
inFamous: Second Son for me. I just couldn't put it down for weeks. Haven't picked up Dark Souls 2 yet due to lack of funds, but maybe soon.

It's still worrying that your first priority in the morning is to turn on Football Manager.
Unfortunately this is the only way to play FM, it is the gift and the curse. There's a reason it has the highest average playtime of any game on Steam.
When you are deep in, there is nothing else. At university I played it for 3 days without sleep, with my housemate next to me doing the same thing.
The last 5* game I played was FF: Realm Reborn this morning, which is incredible, and I love it. My first ever MMO (apart from some hilarious dalliances with EverQuest when they used to put free trial discs with PC magazines). Before that it was Dark Souls 2, which is more like 6, 7, 8 or 9 stars.
A Link Between Worlds seems like the most recent genuine five-star game that I've played. I've enjoyed the hell out of several solid four-star games in 2014, but I don't think there's one that I would put at five-stars.
Titanfall, Assassin's Creed IV and Saint's Row IV are the most recent games I would give 5 stars to.
I don't believe in five star games. I think all games float around a 'very high value' of the next lowest number, but never achieve the ultimate score. I loved Assassin's Creed IV. I loved Dragon's Dogma. I loved all the Uncharted games. But I would not give any of them the "hightest" possible score.
GTA V. I really love that game, every time I play I discover a place I haven't been to before. Dark Souls 2 releases on PC in two days and it's the first non-Humble Bundle game I have purchased since GTA V.
@wickedfather: you keep a gaming dairy can you tell me more about that / what made you want to keep one?
I loved Dark Souls and while I think Dark Souls 2 is a better game in some respects (gameplay, multiplayer) it didn't feel as great as an experience for me as the 1st and while I would say it's probably a 5 star game, the last game that really blew me away was The Last of Us.
I'd say either Far Cry 3 or Ni No Kuni. I can't remember which I played last.
Same here.
Project M. Aka basically the only game i've been playing the past 14 months. It's an incredible smash game.
In January I played Super Mario 3d World which I would probably give 5 stars. So far I haven't enjoyed any 2014 games enough to say they were 5 stars.
Hmmm, I think strictly speaking the 5 star game I played most recently was my replay of Half-Life 2 and the two episodes. I still dig it enough to play them, and then play through the episodes with commentary right after and enjoy it. Sure made me wish the mythical Half-Life 3 had happened and been awesome before the legend outgrew anything the game could ever be.
What I've played of Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is really damn good so far though, it has potential to be a 5 Star game by the time I'm done.
