The MUST OWN titles of last generation?

So, I was reading this buyers guide over at Kotaku, and it has a list of 8 games for each console considered the "must plays."  While I agree with many of them, I had some things to say about many of them. So, I'm curious, what do you all consider the "must own" games from last generation? Here's what I think:

You got it right.
Also I would have had on there Final fantasy X, and The original god of war.
But Metal Gear solids are a must have.

That's a pretty good list. I can't think of anything I would change. They're all top games.

it's harder to say looking back as games have aged.  For example, it's just impossible to recommend timesplitters now, but back then it was a pretty damn fun game

I guess it boils down to ultra heavy hitters like FF10, Halo 1 and 2, and things like this and the case here

I think that list is quite appropriate. But but since in this list multiplats have there own list shouldnt RE4 be there rather then Gamecube exclusive? It was available on PS2 as well, unless the implication here is that the PS2 version isnt any good and thus not a must play, I dont know. Since I have only played about 2/3 of this list and own copies of about 1/3, maybe I should be going back and getting some of those.

i definetly agree with timesplitters 2, resi 4 and metal gear solid 3, but then again they the only 3 ive played

another few of my personal choices would be Freedom fighters, mercenaries (original not world in flames) and red faction 2 :)

For me (only had a gamecube) the holy trinity was Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, and RE4. 

Other must own titles :
Deus Ex
Silent hill 2
Indigo prophecy

I say Killer7, GTA: San Andreas and Super Smash Bros Brawl, oh and Halo.

I agree with the list, but I'd still add tons of games to it, because there are (specially for the ps2) a lot more must own games than that.

And I'd also remove Eternal Darkness. I realy don't understand what people see in it. I thought it was dead boring and too repetitive.

I think you forgotSuper Smahs Bros. Melee and Killer 7. Other than that, I couldn't agree more.

It's a great list, but Viewtiful Joe is sorely missing from the lineup.
