If you’re anxious for more spooky puzzles, a sequel to The Room is on the way, and if you missed the hypnotic Hotline Miami on the PC, it's headed to PlayStation 3 and Vita.
Good news for two great indie games, so why not bunch ‘em in the same story?
Whatever you think of iOS games, Fireproof Games’ The Room is worth your time--it's smart and scary. I’ve been champing at the bit for any news on the sequel that's teased after you solve the game’s last puzzle.
The studio revealed a free update is coming for the original game in the summer, and will likely increase the tease factor tenfold. Then, this fall, a full-on sequel with a “new, more spectacular setting.”
Also, if you don’t own an Apple device, you’re in luck! It’s coming to Android by the end of the summer.
For Hotline Miami on Sony’s platforms, we’re also looking at a springtime release. Hotline Miami is being ported by Dutch developer Abstraction Games (responsible for ports of Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, and others). Original developer Dennaton Games is overlooking the port, but it’s already busy building a sequel (yes, already!). Additionally, Hotline Miami will be part of Sony’s pretty rad Cross-Buy program, which means buying one version gets you access to the other version.
