So, anyone else injured themselves in some really dumb ways playing games?

I remember playing mario party on the 64 and the mini-games that made you wiggle the stick were the worst. I got a huge blister from palming the stick to move it back and forth faster. Also got a blister on my thumb doing the same in a wrestling game where you had to mash buttons to kick out of pins.

Also, DJ hero 2 can mess your damn wrist up on some of the crazier tracks. Seriously on some of the daft punk tracks my wrist was burning. Needless to say... I quit playing for a while. I'm sure there are more but nothing that instantly comes to mind. So what are your gaming related battle scars?

I'm sure I've dropped an Xbox 360 controller on my foot at least once before. I've also definitely felt my wrists burning at the end of some of my games of Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

My right hand is almost unusable some days because of hand craps from holding my mouse all day to play a game. It's getting worse and is almost at the point where I can't even play PC games for more then a few minuets at a time without my hand cramping so badly I feel like it's about to split in two some days.

I've had Guitar Hero sessions that would make my hands ache for a day or two, but nothing more serious than that.

When I sang the Endless Setlist in RB2 I couldn't talk for about two or three days because my throat was so sore. That's probably the closest to an injury I've gotten.

I never got blisters but that 64 analog hurt my thumb when you had to spin it a lot.

I'm also surprised no one has said 'I got blisters on me fingers!'.

The blister-generating capabilities of the NES controller are legendary.

When I was little, I got a blister from playing Robocop Vs. Terminator on the Genesis for a long time. Only time that's ever happened.

Currently, my left thumb hurts pretty bad when I put pressure on it in certain directions. I think it's possible it might have been caused by my game playing.

Yeah I had so many blisters from playing Goldeneye & Perfect Dark I managed to build up a fairly solid callus on my thumb.

The biggest, worst injury I've encountered didn't happen to me, or anyone else that matter. Oh, but the horrors. The chills I still get. Picture this: boyfriend gets mad, throws down his Xbox controller, it bounces off the floor, flies up and back about 2 feet in the air and smashes into his 42'' EXPENSIVE flatscreen effectively destroying the screen.

The damage it did to our minds and hearts was enough. Sigh.

I'll consider this a game-related injury. I was working at Quiznos (sandwich shop for those who aren't familiar) May 29th of 2010 (Day before my graduation) slicing turkey and thinking about how I wanted to get home to play more Red Dead Redemption. Stupidly, I wasn't paying attention to where my hand was on the slicer and ended up slicing a fair chunk of my thumbs knuckle off. Yeah, I walked on stage to grab my diploma with a giant cotton bandage around my thumb.

Theres a mission in gta 4 that completely kept glitching up on me. It took 5 times to complete the mission, because a certain glitch kept occuring. So I went to throw the controller at the door from being pissed off, but a roommate walked in and it wacked her right in the face. Yeah.....

Beyond that, just blisters or ankle pain from rock band drums

Had a similar thing happen. Threw 360 controller on the ground it bounced battery pack flew off headed to the TV screen and ever so slightly kissed the TV you could see it impact. Luckily it JUST grazed it and did no damage. Have never thrown a controller after that!

I've got a scar on my elbow from accidentally hitting it while participating in a Chess tournament. Hit the wooden edge of the table.

Chess is hardcore, guys. ;)

Pretty sure I'm slowly getting carpal tunnel due to being on the PC too long.

Back in the good old days, the earl nines I had broken my ankle and it was summer time so my only friend was my SNES and Mortal Kombat 2. It turns out that if you play that game all day long every day you get really good at it. Like knowing all the fatalities, friendships, babialties and level fatalities. the down side was a short temper and punching the TV screen with you soon to be an adult fist. Being dumb and young I always wanted to break the screen. I never did, but I did hit it hard, quite a bit. The point is thinking back on it is that I probably should have broken my hand several times over because of this.

I don't play fighting games anymore.

Played fairly long sessions of Super Street Fighter 4, 2 days in a row, after having not played fighting games for a year prior. Got a blister so big it literally covered half my thumb.

Some of you have some pretty short tempers man, I've never thrown a controller, or punched a wall out of anger at a video game. For a thing that's meant to bring enjoyment and pleasure, it sure causes some of you guys what sounds like some serious trauma. Mellow out dude, it's for your own good.

It wasn't really an injury, but I kicked a hole through my bedroom wall once when I was 16 trying to get the ultimate weapon for Yuri in Shadow Hearts. That mini-game was evil.
