The Xbox LIVE Ultimate Game Sale - Which games to get?

Microsoft is having a massive sale on the Games on Demand startin tomorrow with most games around 75-85% off. My question is (stupid, I know) Resident Evil 6 or Operation Raccoon City? Obviously they are both crap but at that reduced price its got to be worth something, right? I recently got Red Faction Armageddon on PSN for £4.99 and I got my moneys worth alright.

I bet that most of the games will be <50% off while much older games might see deeper discounts. I really do hope I'm wrong though.

@damisterchief: yeah i've played 5 to death its decent. My gold just ran out recently so i prob wont be getting any multiplayer focused games (Borderlands 2 was my first choice) but CivRev definitely. Also played SF4 alot, is X tekken even close?

If either of those Batman games are deeply discounted, I'd be interested in a purchase.

Raccon city is at least fun with other people. But 6 is just all around boring

if you havent played left 4 dead 2 , get that. i dont know how the community is at this point, but im sure its still reasonably active. remember to use your mic, and join lobbies with miccers only when playing versus so that you can get into the real depth and competition of the game. there youll find the hidden appeal that not many people do when just playing through the campaign a few times or whatever they do that makes them have the conclusion that l4d is an ok game, and not one of the greatest mulitplayer games of all time .

Man I'm super bummed Banjo Nuts and Bolts isn't on there. I do however want to get Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Rainbow Six Vegas, those are notable ommissions of mine from this generation.

No idea which of these RE games is less bad but I'm personally interested in the HD Metal Gear games and El Shaddai if the discounts are alright (got 1600 points left anyway). Also RE 4 eventhough I can only get the fucking german version if I buy it like this. Never played that game...

Edit: But yeah I'm sure both Raccoon City and 6 could be worth it for a reasonable price.

Left 4 Dead 2 is well worth the average retail price just now, even the single player is fun but online is were its at. I'm mainly looking for single player games and there seems to be plenty on the list.

Apparently there will be different games on sale each day for one day only, maybe more than just the ones mentioned in the link. I'm hoping the majority are 75% off but knowing microsoft it won't be the big ones. Seems like all I ever hear nowadays is people bitching about microsoft but at least this is a start. They better shape up for the 720.

Also, just wondering, but when you go to buy that game with MS points, does it say 480? I think I saw that but I went through it real quick so I can't be sure if that is how much I had or how much it costs. Cause that is, like $6 if you pay with MS points, and $3 if you use a credit card (or whatever other payment option lets you buy with real money).

This is awesome, will pick up RDR again just because I feel guilty having traded it in and Portal 2 if its cheap enough.

Everyone needs to be aware that if you are buying Games on Demand games with msp you may experience an incorrect total right now there is a glitch, double check your prices. Remember 80 points = 1 USD Major nelson mentioned this on twitter.

You could still purchase them now, and just download them and delete as you play them

Wow, I didn't think they were actually going to be this cheap. I'm definitely picking up El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements.

Any opinions on Dark Messiah? I remember playing it briefly and wanting to dig deeper into it, but I never bought it.

I own a bunch of those games or I have it on PC. Not that great of a sale really.

For those Canadians out there, I think the prices are slightly different - cough cough - higher for most of the games.

@coafi: Dark Messiah is a lot of fun and the story is interesting enough for like half of it. It's a lot better when you have the console to fuck around with (and VTFedit) but it's still solid enough on its own.

The collision with the bench is actually what kills her but still pretty hilarious; love the dumb physics in that game.

Thought about buying Halo Wars, but I know I'll never get around to playing it. Some of those prices are pretty great. Even Halo 4 for $40 is relatively competitive, which is a bit of a shocker.

Really glad to see xbox having these kind of sales for games. I really hope this becomes a semi regular thing going forward on the next gen xbox.

I have been waiting to get MGS: PW on the cheap for a long while now, so that is pretty awesome.

El Shaddai and Dirt 2 are the only games I'm getting, but I'm glad to see Xbox finally taking after Steam by putting lesser known games on deep discount to juice sales. Here's hoping it continues to the new system instead of just being a last ditch effort to sell games on the 360.

Unfortunate that the biggest new game you can get for cheaper on Amazon without an "ultimate deal." They generally need to get games on demand prices in line with retail prices instead of staying artificially high, but still being beat out when you're putting something on sale is pretty bad. I had hoped Halo 4 would be at least 29.99 and was going to buy it if so. Not so much now.

@coafi:I like it, better on PC of course. But it's a fun little action heavy rpg. More Deus Ex 2 then 1, but still good.

Picked up El Shaddai, DiRT 2, and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements. I've already played DMMM before on PC, so the tutorial level being different is weirding me out.

I really hope they do a really massive sale for XBL after this with prices from a dollar to five for the newest.

They say it's the ultimate sale. Not really. Bunch of old games(exept a few) which have been on sale before. I can find the same price or cheaper on Steam/online or in a sales bin.

To be honest, its not that extensive a sale. At least we are getting one though... The pricing bug is fixed aswell.

Resident Evil 6 is $10 NZD right now. The fact that a game that still (somehow) retails for $50 here in New Zealand is at that price is insane, especially since it's the Bloody Xbox.
