Poll Three-months in: What's your favourite *new* game this year? (688 votes)

Axiom Verge 3%
Battlefield Hardline 1%
Bloodborne 32%
Cities: Skylines 9%
Dying Light 5%
Evolve 1%
Grow Home 3%
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number 4%
Ori and the Blind Forest 6%
Pillars of Eternity 11%
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 2%
*Other* 9%
*No opinion* 15%

I haven't included all games from this year in the poll (there are heaps), but I've tried to include most major/well-received games from 2015. If you selected the 'other' option, make sure you mention what it is in the comments.

Also, remakes/remasters/rereleases/etc... don't count.

Of the games that have come out this year that I've played, dying light has been a great experience.

Now, we'll see if its still my favorite once I've played pillars of eternity. POE looks like a love letter to my teenage years of gaming. Can't wait.

Life is Strange. Without a doubt, Life is Strange is my choice.

I am rather shocked that people were interested in Bloodbourn. It is obviously popular, yet before it came out I did not see the excitement very openly evident among people here...I suppose in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king. There are so few games coming that are large that something pretty good is now the best game that came out for them.

So far, definitely Dying Light, which is a surprise since I didn't exactly enjoy Dead Island (saw some potential, but a lot of things held that game back)

I also enjoyed Dragon Ball Xenoverse, but the RNG in the game can get really frustrating at times.

Even though Episode 1 came out last year, I'm also enjoying Tales from the Borderlands and I hope the rest of the game is just as good as the first two episodes.

Of the games you listed, the only one I've played is Bloodborne. I haven't played enough of it to formulate an opinion, but early impressions are "eh, I'd rather reroll a character in Dark Souls".

Until Axiom Verge comes out on PC and I only play episodic content e.g. Tales from the Borderlands, Games of Thrones, Life is Strange, Broken Age until all of the content is released. I WILL PLAY KENTUCKY ROUTE ZERO WHEN THE SEASON IS FINISHED AND I WILL THINK IT'S INCREDIBLE!

So right now Grow Home is my favourite. Ori was really good but Grow Home made me so happy.

Happy! :)

Technically the first episode was released at the end of last year, but I'm going to say that Tales from the Borderlands is my favorite "new" thing that I've played so far this year.

Only played Bloodborne, but I'm very keen to play Axiom Verge when that's out. I also enjoyed Dying Light quite a bit, but now that I've gotten pretty much most of the skills, the combat became rather stale and predictable. Maybe I'll go back and try the hard mode patch sometime when there's a drought of new games.

So far: HELLDIVERS has been a very good time every time I boot it up. Best thing I've played this year.

By default, Cities: Skylines as that is the only 2015 game I've played this year so far. Been working on the backlog and replaying Metal Gear to prepare for The Phantom Pain

I like everything about Hotline Miami 2 better than the first one, and I loved the first game. Also it's the only game I've finished, I'm sure if I put more time in Monster Hunter or Type 0 it'd be up there. Tales of the Borderlands Episode 2 is amazing as well.

I'm with this so far as well. Life Is Strange is super interesting, and I'm glad Dontnod has found another use for their rewind tech from Remember Me.

The only other thing I've really played from this year that I can think of is Hotline Miami 2, and its levels are just really inconsistent like the devs don't actually understand what was enjoyable about playing the first game.

Alternatively, Homeworld: Remastered. Putting it up here anyway.

I think he's asking for 2015 games specifically - not what you've played in general, what you've played from this year.

Ori and the Blind Forest happens to be the only 2015 game I've bought, played, and finished. I think it's a pretty good game, though the latter two timed sections and the sickeningly saccharine ending keep it from being as good as I thought it would be for the first several hours. If you like platforming and Metroidvanias, definitely give it a shot.

HELLDIVERS

If we were on SUPER EARTH I'd charge you with mutiny a hundred times over for neglecting to include this game in your list, citizen.

Helldivers is the most hilarious / tense / replayable / best couch co-op / best online co-op that we've had on any platform in a damn long time. Made by 12 hombres at Arrowhead who are doing a bang up job supporting it, it is surprisingly large and dynamic with a long and entertaining difficulty curve. It looks fine, performs great, and the cross-platform play has been life changing. Being able to bring my disparate friends (Vita, PS3 ,PS4) together across all those platforms and countries to play a hilarious game of shoot each other is just super awesome, and has truly rekindled some friendships.

---

Unofficially, I'd like to say that Type-0 is amazing so far. It's a remaster, but unlike most of them it wasn't actually easily available/playable here.

Of the games I've fully played Hand of Fate is my GOTY so far. I am almost positive that Pillars of Eternity will over take it but I've only put in 6 hours of that game.

I want to play more Bloodborne before I vote in the poll, but shout-out to Disco Dodgeball. That game has been a ton of fun, even when there's only a few dozen people online to play with.

Given that I haven't played Bloodborne yet, I have to go with Pillars of Eternity. It's basically everything I've wanted it to be thus far.

Senran Kagura Estival versus. I imported it (i.e. bought it off the JP PSN store) and have been playing it since last Thursday when it launched.

Its awesome but I can't talk about it on here in detail because its "too hot for GB" apparently.

I'm loving it too. The only one that could upset my nomination is Pillars of Eternity, because I like rpgs, although I'm not very fond of squad based rpgs.

Life is Strange. Definitely. Wait, does Heroes of the Storm count? I started playing it late December... But it went beta this year and will likely come out this year. If that counts it's probably actually that.

I have put too much time into Alto's Adventure. Unlocking that last character was a real difficult, but I was able to go through with it. I don't think I can think of another mobile title that has held my attention for this long.

Really enjoying Bloodborne, and I've sunk more hours into it than I have any other "new" game, so I'll go with that. PoE seems awesome though, as does Cities: Skylines, just haven't had time for more timesink-y stuff thus far.

I'm not going to vote on anything yet, I'd like to check out Axiom Verge, but so far it's a tie between Ori and the Blind Forest and Bloodborne, probably veering more towards Bloodborne. I love both games a bunch, but I don't think either is five-star material. I really do need to check out Grow Home.

Now that I think about it, I can't think of any "new" games I've played so far this year. I dabbled a bit in Bloodborne, but not enough to have much of an opinion on it.

I think the closest thing would be the second episode of Tales of the Borderlands, which I did like a like a lot, but it's debatable how much that counts, considering it debuted last year.

Tied between Life is Strange and Pillars of Eternity for me. If Life is Strange delivers on it's potential, it will likely be that for #1 at the end of the year, with Pillars being a close 2nd.

Ori and the Blind Forest. I haven't played Bloodborne and Pillars of Eternity, though, but they're not really my scene.

Ori and the Blind Forest, on the other hand, is right up my alley and it's a great fucking game.

Oddly enough, Hotline Miami 2. For the first couple hours, I was in the camp that it's different than the first and wah wah wah. I got better, I embraced the tactics rather than the chaos, then read up on the story stuff and really, really dug it.

Ori was good, Axiom Verge is ok so far, and Bloodborne is pretty great. But Hotline Miami 2, a game I didn't even like at first, turned out to stick with me the most.

I've only played two games from this year and neither of them are on this list. I can't really judge Game of Thrones fairly since it's only halfway through the season so I suppose it's OlliOlli 2 by default.

I'm in the same boat, although DmC Definitive Edition keeps coming back to me as well. Can't wait to get a Souls game finished.
