" Anti-sign. As much as a lot of people want it, I have no desire to watch 2 hours of a turn based game being played. "Psh. As opposed to watching Jeff/Ryan run straight down the middle of the map and die to something we can't see every 20 seconds in another FPS game?
" Anti-sign. As much as a lot of people want it, I have no desire to watch 2 hours of a turn based game being played. "Then don't watch that episode? I don't want to watch whatever generic crappy console shooter of the week that has come out get played all the time, but I have to put up with it.
To those who have supported this idea, I thank you.
To those who are against it, I respect your opinion.
I chose to just come out and say that I'd like this because, at one point, it was a new game (and I understand that, most of the time, they like doing TNTs on new games), and they had considered doing a TNT for it before, but due to there being so many other games out at the time, they passed it up. I've seen a lot of good arguments (slow and time consuming being the main one), however they are definitely ways to speed up the process in that game (including time limits on turns). The argument that I get behind most, however, is this:
" @President_Barackbar said:If you don't like it, don't watch it. It's not like TNT won't be back the next week. (However, I question the technical limitations in Civilization V now that we talk about it. Does it have a "spectator" mode? That may be stopping them from playing it as well. I should start it up and find out.) That all being said..." Anti-sign. As much as a lot of people want it, I have no desire to watch 2 hours of a turn based game being played. "Then don't watch that episode? I don't want to watch whatever generic crappy console shooter of the week that has come out get played all the time, but I have to put up with it. I was rather disappointed to see SC2 get another dam TNT and Civ 5 getting passed over. If they pick one of the faster game modes you can easily get a game in a 2 hour time slot. I will admit that it will be rather boring at the start, but once they get their war on with some civs it will get intense fast. "
I wonder if it'd be better to do small maps and short modes, or just ONE BIG TWELVE PERSON HUGE MAP EXTRAVAGANZA, haha.
What I want is for the whole Giant Bomb crew (and toss in the Screened and Tested guys as well) to play a massive single-player game where they sit around a table (War Room style) and discuss their next moves and strategies. Would be particularly funny when Vinny is trying to promote world peace, but then yells "FUCK THAT GUY! Build some fucking tanks!" when Ghandi provokes them.
" I think the starcraft TNTs proved how utterly boring those PC strategy games are, Ryan looked like he wanted to kill himself for most of it. I say bring on BLACK OPS! "That's because you missed Chan v. Shoemaker which was on later that night (I think it's in the archive). Unsurprisingly, the game is way better when the commentators are drunk and have no interest or knowledge of Starcraft, as opposed to someone spitting out jargon at a rapid fire pace (i.e. Norm).
