I feel stupid for asking this. But I haven't found the answer I was looking for so ill just ask it myself: Why is there absolutely no reference to the TNT video's / stream anywhere on the website?
I know it exists because of 'I love Mondays', and I can find the videos after some searching around using the forums / Google. But shouldn't there be some reference on the website where people can see them / know when it starts? Didn't they used to link the archived version in the news section? Why did that stop?
I live in Europe and am often unable to participate / watch live. And It feels a bit strange that I have to go out of my way to find out were I can watch the archived versions and if they are up in the first place.
TNT on the website?
There's a list someone has that shows what's happened and provides some links on where to find them, but no, for the most part, there is no newsflash on it and tey don't really link. It starts at 4 PM Pacific time, so you might just have to do the math from there.
They're all archived on Giant Bomb's justin.tv page (just go there and search) but otherwise, there's not really much.
I have a stickied thread which contains all the TNTs in the general discussion forum section of the site.
Here is a direct link to my thread.
Has the question of storing archived versions of TNT on the site - like the Whiskey Media Happy Hour - been answered?
I've searched the forums and had a look at Jeff's VYou, but couldn't find any explanation there. I'm sure it's something to do with them being 2 hours long, which would make HD versions well over 2GB, but couldn't they just be for members, then?
The J.TV player performs incredibly poorly on my MacBook Pro in Safari, Firefox, and Chrome - it just constantly jitters and it's very hard to watch. I have to use the Video Download Helper in Firefox to rip it before I can watch it without going crazy. I have no problems with the GB player or YouTube, so it's not related to the performance of Flash video, just whatever J.TV did to their player.
Thanks, and apologies again if this has already been answered.
I normally watch them the same way as @TigerDX. I'm never home at 4PM PST, so I miss the stream and end up ripping the video from the Justin.tv site and watching it locally. I can't stand Justin.tv but I'll suffer through it in the rare times I get to watch a Giantbomb event live.
I also always wondered why they don't put the videos on the site, I'd love to watch TNT at a better quality. But I also realize the videos would be huge and I'm sure that'd be a pain in the ass in different ways for the staff.
Are you guys going to start putting archives of TNT on the site, like the Happy Hours? It would be cool if you did.
It's not especially high on our list. Yanking those longer shows can present a technical challenge if they go over the two-hour mark.
No, they are not going to host TNT on Giant Bomb. They host the Happy Hour because it's the only way to keep in member exclusive and it covers multiple brands.
If you are having severe problems watching it live, try refreshing a couple of times. Usually I'll get a prompt to switch to a smoother version. It doesn't always pop up, but when it does, it helps a lot. Other than that, I think the only thing that would help would be for them to broadcast in a lower quality, which they probably won't do even though it helps the majority of users with problems like that. The Kinect stream was perfect for me until they switched to the higher-quality stream part-way through.
If you're watching the archive, pause it and let it buffer/load for a minute or two.

"I should have pointed out that when I do watch events live I have no technical issues with it. The archives though, I do. Sometimes the buffer will simply stop loading causing me to skip around the video, or refreshing the page to get it started all over again. Annoying.
I find watching them locally to be just a better experience for myself.
Thanks for the responses. I had a feeling the question of usefulness would come up (thanks @X19 for directing me on how to find the answer on VYou). While I agree the purpose of it being a community gaming night is not particularly well served by archived versions, it's often the stuff around the core conceit that I find more interesting. The guests, the conversation, and just the funny moments that happen in game and out.
On the issue of performance, it doesn't feel like it's bandwidth related. Even the archived versions have this problem when played through JTV and left to buffer for a while. I wish I could explain it better, but it is a regular stutter that appears to display adjacent frames out of sequence every couple of seconds. Rather than being a hard stop, as though buffering, this is actually way worse.
I can see why it's not done, both technically and in the spirit of TNT, but I'd still really like to see nice archived versions.
