Man, I really hope the game turns out as slick as that trailer. I really like how they are portraying Lara as young and inexperienced. I suspect that by the end of the game, she'll be a total badass.

The producers have said that they've been directly influenced by Danny Boyle's 127 Hours. I am expecting some crazy-ass disgusting shit in this game.
UGH! I am just sick of Eidos/Square or whatever the fuck name they have now, attempts of shoving down out throats another Lara Croft every two years with another reboot/remake. ENOUGH! So now it's horror survival...what's next? I will just wait until this game gets to be cheaper. WHy do they keep milking this carcass when they have Legacy of Kain staring at them looking for some love. Get on it you morons.
CGI wise, thats a fucking pretty trailer. I for one like the Tomb Raider games (in fact i just started Underworld the other day), and theres really nothing like them these days... no, Uncharted is NOTHING like the TR games, not really. Plus Crystal dynamics did a good job on the current gen games (even if the lore has gone batshit crazy), so im quite looking forward to see what they do with this new one, hopefully with a more realistic setting with just a smidge of supernatural
" I can't get hyped from a CG trailer, it means literally nothing until we see some gameplay "I'm feeling exactly the same way right now. Sure, it looks nice, but it gives absolutely no indication of the gameplay direction that Crystal Dynamics are moving in. As a long-time fan of the franchise I have high hopes for this game. For now, though, I'm going to leave off boarding the hype train until I actually see how the game plays.
I know I shouldn't be excited over a CG trailer but...fuck it.
Really happy to see Crystal Dynamics with a serious project again. I mean they made decent games out the tomb raider franchise before and it seems like there is a lot more money behind this one so logic says it should be good, right?
The more "realistic" approach looks interesting. All the magical stuff in Tomb Raider never did anything for me, to be honest. If they could somehow blend some open world elements of exploration and surviving with "classic" Tomb Raider puzzle and platforming gameplay, it could be a worthwhile game.
I can't get hyped from a CG trailer, it means literally nothing until we see some gameplay, same reason I'm not excited after seeing the incredibly impressive Prey 2 trailer as well. I hope it does turn out that way though, I'd love Tomb Raider to be relevant again.I completely agree. CG Trailer? Snore. I mean, it's a nice trailer, but wake me when we actually see some gameplay.
I really liked the trailer but I can't commit to this reboot until I see some actual game play. Great trailer, though.
Haven't they rebooted the series about twelve times already? No. When Crystal Dynamics took over the series with Tomb Raider Legend, they disregarded everything except the first game (since the rest were trash) and essentially made Legend their own version of TR2.
How awesome would it be if this were to be a S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-esque game of survival? Forced to scrounge for weapons, food, and bandages, just barely managing to fight off the bizarre creatures of the island...
I'm probably building up false hope. Nothing made in the West can compare to the intensity of Eastern Bloc games.
The CG trailer means more than "literally nothing". It's helping us know what the atmosphere and tone of the game will be, as well as defining this recently-rebooted version of Lara. If you don't care about those things, then I have a hard time believing you were ever legitimately excited about this reboot.I can't get hyped from a CG trailer, it means literally nothing until we see some gameplay, same reason I'm not excited after seeing the incredibly impressive Prey 2 trailer as well.
