It was an amazing realisation of how incredibly high calibre this game is. It's a show game. It's a show turned into a movie, something that doesn't always do well. The good ones are usually fine, but they always have a sense of separation between show creators and the game's developers.
BUT it is incredible. the production qualities are so high. It feels like something the creators MADE, directly. I understand the amount of help they would have given, but still it's a totally unheard level of goodness .It's just hard to truly realise how good this game is. It IS the game SP needed. It's just so great.
Took me 5 hours to BELIEVE South Park: SOT.
I kinda agree... kinda disagree. I live in Europe and had no idea my version was going to be censored. Ubisoft censored all versions across Europe I believe, even though my country holds no laws or regulations against any of the game's depiction. It received the exact same rating before and after censorship. Apparently, Ubisoft made the choice to have it censored for whatever reason (I read somewhere they did it for a marketing reason, but I don't know if that's true). Anyway, I found it incredibly unfitting of the show to censor stuff. It wasn't funny censorship like the '200' episode of the show on TV. It was just: 'nope, you don't get to see this'. And it is stuff that I found funny. Especially because of the voices. It's too bad I have to go online and watch those video's and don't get to experience it in the game I paid money for.
Just felt weird. Ever since the first censorship popped up (and there are like 6 censored moments right after that, many more later on), I appreciated the game a lot less. Also think the combat is lacking some impact and the buddies not being customizable at all made me not use them much. Also, I think there are too many load screens in that game. They aren't that long, but every 30-60 seconds there is a load screen usually.
But I did enjoy it. I am a major fan of the show. I've watched all the episodes and I was amazed how much stuff from the episodes, from all seasons, they managed to dump into this game.
I completely agree. Whether or not you like the series, there's no denying it lives up to the show's expectations. They've successfully translated one piece of media into another without it feeling forced and unnecessary. As far as licensed games go, it's right up there with the Arkham games when it comes to successful translation across media.
I feel like the show has been setting the stage for exactly this piece of software for years now. It really is what a South Park game is supposed to be.

My favorite part about it was they actually ended the most recent show arc as a direct set up to the game. I thought that was pretty darn cool. It showed just how much they had invested themselves in the game and how confident they were in it's quality.
At some point I just realized that I wish I was watching a tv show instead. None of the gameplay was interesting to me, none of the side quests were funny, and it just felt like a 2-3 part special episode with all this filler in between that you had to sit through because it's a video game so at some point you need to actually do something. Its super linear so there's no point in replaying it either. I will be shocked if someone doesn't just cut out the fluff and release a youtube video as if this was an hour or two movie. And honestly, I think I would have enjoyed that more.
