I want you to name your favorite team for each of the major sports, not just your favorite team over all. If you have a second favorite team, just say it after the 1st. Lets see where people loyalties lie.
American Football: New England Patriots. I've like them since I lived in CA years ago, and not just since they became good.
Baseball: Boston Red Sox, LA Angels of Anaheim (such a stupid name)
Basketball: I guess the Celtics, I am not a big fan of basketball or hockey
Hockey: Anaheim Ducks, I miss when they were Mighty.
Soccer/Football: None. How's Ireland doing in the cup? I guess maybe them for heritage and junk.
Edit: This should be in Off-Topic
Ultimate Favorite Sports Teams Thread
Hockey- Detroit Red Wings
Football- Detroit Lions
Baseball- Detroit Tigers
Basketball- None I hate the damn sport.
College Football- University of Michigan
College Basketball- Michigan State University
College Hockey- University of Michigan/Western Michigan University (WMU where I go usually sucks)
Football - the Cardinals are pretty alright
Baseball - Mariners
Basketball - Trail Blazers
Hockey - Crap idk... Detroit
Soccer - ...The USA international team? :P
Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins... I watched some Inter Milan games in Poland and they were kind of neat, so I guess they're cool.
Football - The Rams
Basketball - The Spurs
Baseball - The Brewers
Hockey - The Penguins
My teams didn't come from bandwagon-ing, I played their respective sports game and they were the worst team that year and kept rooted for them ever since. (I love me a good underdog story)
Football: New England Patriots
Baseball: Toronto Blue Jays ( I'm named after them )
Hockey: Montreal Canadiens
Basketball: Toronto Raptors, and Boston Celtics
I'll go for a bunch of other teams too depending on who is on their team. I'll root for teams because of specific players.
" Football - The Rams Basketball - The Spurs Baseball - The Brewers Hockey - The Penguins My teams didn't come from bandwagon-ing, I played their respective sports game and they were the worst team that year and kept rooted for them ever since. (I love me a good underdog story) "Dang dude, what was the last year the Spurs were considered bad? :P
Soccer/Football: None. How's Ireland doing in the cup? I guess maybe them for heritage and junk. Edit: This should be in Off-Topic "Ireland did not qualify for the FIFA World Cup. They were eliminated on a controversial match against France last year.
I hate almost all the teams posted so far.
American Football- Carolina Panthers
Pro Baseball- Atlanta Braves
Pro Hockey- Washington Capitals/ Carolina Hurricanes
Pro Basketball- Charlotte Bobcats
College Baseball/College Basketball/College Football/College Lacrosse- UNC Chapel Hill Tarheels, BYU Cougars, Virginia Tech Hokies
" @HypoXenophobia said:O, I should mention it was in different years that I followed each team, sorry if I confused you. Back in the 90's, the Spurs were rather bad. Just like 04, the Penguins were atrocious. The Brewers to my knowledge have never been good. The Rams won me a bet, but I still followed them after they went downhill." Football - The Rams Basketball - The Spurs Baseball - The Brewers Hockey - The Penguins My teams didn't come from bandwagon-ing, I played their respective sports game and they were the worst team that year and kept rooted for them ever since. (I love me a good underdog story) "Dang dude, what was the last year the Spurs were considered bad? :P "
Football - Dallas Cowboys
Baseball - none, too boring
Basketball - sucks... San Antonio Spurs
Hockey - Dallas Stars, Colorado Avalanche
College Football - Ohio State
"Soccer/Football: None. How's Ireland doing in the cup? "Ha ha dude are you for real? Ireland was knocked out in qualifying by France after Thierry Henre hand balled a goal. Anyway I guess I'll lay out my teams remembering that I choose New South Wales and Australia whenever it comes to State or National rep honors. Only in club level to I ignore geography.
AFL: Richmond Tigers (club), Australia (International rules hybrid shit)
Rugby League: Brisbane Broncos (club), Country (city/country rep), NSW (State of Origin), Australia (International rep)
Rugby Union: NSW Warratahs (Super 15's), Wallabies (International rep)
Soccer: Perth Glory (A League), Manchester United (EPL), Socceroos (International rep)
Cricket: NSW Blues (Domestic all forms), Australia (International rep) Die IPL!
Basketball: Perth Wildcats (NBL), Boston Celtics (NBA)
After that I really enjoy watching different sports but only follow teams loosely if at all. EG: I love watching Ice Hockey even though I don't get to living in Australia that much and I only have a basic understanding of the game. I don't really support a team but I always play the New Jersey Devils as my team in a video game which was kind of born from the Puddy character out of Seinfeld which is pretty dumb I guess. I also like watching the NFL even though I think it's a shitty version of football but at the moment I only take a vague interest in the teams that feature Aussies which I think only includes same dude at the Cowboys, Sav Rocca at Philadelphia? And does Ben Graham still play at the Cardinals? I don't know.
