Dear gamers in the Giant Bomb forums

About a month ago, I made a thread about your wishlist of console games to be ported to PC, now this time, I'm curious to see you guys share which are the best games being ported from whichever gaming platform to a console in your opinion.

Here is my personal favorite console port so far is Assetto Corsa Competizione, which was originally released as a PC exclusive on May 29th, 2019, ported to PS4 & Xbox One in 2020, and finally on the PS5 & Xbox Series X/S in 2022.

To me, it's the best racing game you can buy on the PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X/S console as it provides the most realistic racing experience in terms of handling model (Even more realistic than Gran Turismo & Forza Motorsport series), tons of car setups and timing it right to make it to pitstop before players can resume racing, but the disadvantages are, not able to handle many cars on the same track is compared to the PC version and not optimized for controller pad, say if the player steers their car with the analogue stick, it instantly rotates the steering wheel to 900 degrees instantly, which is not possible in the real world so it's 100% recommended to use racing wheel peripheral that supports wheelbase in order to enjoy it.

The most recommended racing wheel peripherals for starters are Thrustmaster T248 or Logitech G923, make sure you get the right one licensed for your console of choice.

Edit: Not every racing games are for everyone to play, because different sub-genre means having different gameplay style plus target audience as well.

PC to console ports aren't something i think about all too often, probably because it's so rare these days, it usually results in a downgrade but there's still a few that pop into my mind.

Command & Conquer - N64

The Saturn and PS1 ports were much more straightforward with no real features to aid in the gameplay, they run well but you have to get good at using a cursor with a d-pad. The N64 port came years later developed by Looking Glass Studios and featured some new control mechanics to help with unit selection (on top of now having access to an analog stick), levels were recreated in 3D which allowed them to pull the camera out more than in the previous ports however it does suffer from slowdown.

Prey - Xbox 360

It was released simultaneously on PC and Xbox but knowing its long development history it's clearly a console port, and a very good one, it runs at a rock solid and responsive 30fps and maintains the PC version's wider FOV. This is an important point for me because after this shooters would start to be developed for console first then hastily ported to PC, so we were often stuck with narrow console FOV's which gave many people headaches and nausea, it was over a decade before PC ports improved and FOV options started to become available in console games.

Crysis - Xbox 360

Not much to say about this one, i think it's really impressive that they managed to get Crysis playable on a 360. I don't think it can be overstated how extreme Crysis's graphics were, you had to have an absolute beast of a machine to play it with high settings on PC and it came out 2 years AFTER the Xbox 360, of course it would then later be ported to the Switch which is also nuts but a little less impressive as the whole game was being remastered for all platforms.

Worst console port could be Soldier of Fortune on the Dreamcast.
