What are the origins of duder?

These forums are the only place I have seen the word duder, and I am now wondering how it came to be.

It used to be when a video finished, text saying "Duder, it's over!" would display and I guess it went from there.

I don't think so. It's origin was older than this end screen as far as I remember.
