- You missed the one and only opportunity to have a very useful item/powerful weapon
- You wasted a ton of time doing something you thought would pay-off, but end up being a big waste of time
- You wasted all your cash on an item/weapon that you later get for free or get something even better
- Your only save is when you have 1/100 health and enemies are surrounding you
What do you do after you realize you screwed up in a game?
the first one: reload my last save and get it
2: that sucks for me, i would probably take a break
3: go and earn some more money so i can spend it all on nothing again
4: keep reloading til i can get out of there
Replay the whole game from the beginning, depending on the game and how much time I've spent on it though.
The first three don't really bother me that much. They bug me a little, of course, but I don't let them get under my skin enough to make me reload at the last save point or whatever.
If I get stuck with very low health, I'll usually just keep reloading that save and play better until I get through it. Of course, I rarely ever let things get that bad in the first place.
I mutter to myself in a low, menacing growl, "I don't need this fucking bullshit."
I then go to sleep.
Since I always save constantly and also back up my saves, I would just reload from a previous save point,

Well most things we do in games end up being a waste of time, so I don't really let it bother me too much. ;)

I do this with almost every game and it does kinda suck but is just a part of the progression system in most games. Besides, you did get to use that weapon earlier than if you had waited.

Again this doesn't really happen to me much since I always save constantly (for games that only have a checkpoint system, I always backup my saves regularly), but I usually either try to find a way to glitch my way out of it or just take the hit and start from the beginning of that section/chapter.
Buutt this happened to me more than once. I sulk for a minute and then something else catches my attention and Im over it haha
This usually happens when I play Metroid.
What I do is:
1) Realize that I fucked up
2) Throw my controller
3) Shut off the game
4) Rage for the rest of the day
I accept it and cry. I have screwed up my Oblivion game multiple times. Low level and any time I slept I got killed by the dark brotherhood ghost. Another time I became a vampire as well as having a curse that drained all my energy so I couldn't fight my way into the Mages Guild to cure my vampire curse. Hated it!
I've always thought that's a severe flaw with the game itself, if it doesn't let you know that you're missing something you can't go back to. Final Fantasy was the biggest culprit of that for the longest time (and may be still...) where you'd miss the ULTIMATE SUMMON if you didn't bother drawing or whatever from a certain creature.
It's a design flaw. It makes me mad.
I get pissed off at everyone and everything for hours... then i go back to the game and finish it in one sitting :)
