What is your dream remake?

Funny modifiers, like "Chance of setting people on fire", "Make enemies explode", "Charged Moves launch people into space"...

I'd love to see a remake of Quazatron/Paradroid. Only because I loved the battle mechanic in those games when you take over other robots, a smart update would be lovely.

I would love a Rollercoaster Tycoon remake with modern graphics with the classic isometric gameplay.

Also one of the earlier football manager games before they got super complex, maybe circa 2005.

I dont want a remake so much as a re-release of Balder's Gate 2, with high def art assets.

I was tempted to say Baldurs Gate (1&2) but my absolute dream remake would be Fear Effect 1&2. Updated graphics, VA, and gameplay: frelling paradise for me. (And, hell, whilst they're at it, if they feel like making me Fear Effect 3: Inferno, I'd really appreciate it!)

@Napalm: If Capcom remakes God Hand and it adds everything we just said... I'm buying the special edition. Twice. For each console. And then i'll buy the normal edition. And the one more special edition.

What shall it be called?  The Legend Of The God Hand? The Return Of The God Hand? New God Hand? God Hand II? God Hand Of Death? Legend Of The God Hand: The Return Of Gene? God Hand Legend? The Legendary God Hand?  This is important stuff!

Redone, but still 2D, intricately crafted graphics, built for todays resolutions.

Every line of dialog voice acted by the original cast (alternatively, every line of dialog spoken by either Kevin Michael Richardson or David Warner).

And the ability to skip the Baldur's Gate 2 tutorial dungeon without breaking the Jaheira romance.

I would buy a fully 3D, first-person perspective version of this game, with damn near the exact same gameplay, in a heartbeat.

Chrono Cross or Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 could use with some fixing up. The original 2 Legend of Zeldas would be great 3D remakes if they didn't add too much plot, or change the difficulty, or add more handholding which they most assuredly would.

Jade Empire would probably be amazing if it had better graphics and a little bit more horse power.

To be fair, they'd kinda have to. After all, the games aren't very good about giving you a sense of direction (where does it tell you the solution to the Lost Woods, or at least the nature of the solution?).

Baldurs Gate 2 as someone suggested. Or Perhaps Planescape Torment. Probably still isometric, but in 3D, with the Witcher 2's colored lighting and depth effects. Oh man.

Dungeon Keeper I or II. I could never understand why they stopped the series. I loved the games, they were some of my all time favorites.

Xenogears, full on Takahashi fully budgeted director's cut. I would kill myself after playing it because nothing could ever be so perfect.

System Shock 2. Awesome spooky game that just hasn't aged all that well graphically. The Bioshock franchise seems to have gone off in its own direction (which is good) so you can't really call it a spiritual successor anymore.

@nintendoeats: I could actually see that being very cool... As crappy and convoluted as that game is, I was blown away by its attempt at being more immersive then every other FPS out there. That's what I'm always looking for, the most immersive, virtual experience available, and Tresspasser had some cool ideas.

@kmdrkul: Heh, interesting... I loved that game, but I think it was really j ust a product of it's time. It felt increadibly badass shooting that shotgun (especially one handed and behind your back). Trouble is, the actual mechanics of that game were not that impressive, and I would wager you would see a shitty FPS with really boring stealth elements if someone tried.

My thinking exactly. That game had a ton of potential, but the people making it clearly lacked experience. A real developer could do wonders with those ideas.

@demonknightinuyasha: oh god yes actraiser would be amazing if they managed to flesh out the population growth/godgame aspect and make the platforming levels more exciting (and make it feel more like you were in control of the avatar of god and not some random dude with a sword). that game could be my number one for all time if they remade it well, i love the concept
