Hey duders,

I've been using EVGA Precision X + RivaTuner to monitor frame rate but there are a lot of games it just fails to detect.. Most notably Titanfall..

Any of you guys have good recommendations of software that picks up most games?

I heard FRAPS is resource intensive, but is that just the recording? I can't imagine just monitoring frame rate would really be that stressful of an activity, but what do I know.. DXtory is one I have heard of before...

What say you, duders?

Probably. My task manager reads 12 MB while playing with the overlay.

I use fraps mainly cause it was the first one suggested and was free to use.

I don't use one normally unless there is something obviously wrong, at which point i just enable the framerate tracking in MSI Afterburner.

Same here except I use FRAPS.

You know what they say: Once you've installed adequate frame rate monitoring software, the fun never stops.

I use FRAPS, although I don't really monitor fps unless it's bad and I'm trying different settings to see if they help.

Mmm a difficult one. I'm going to go with The Human Eye. A great little piece of kit, something to do with bouncing light around and apparently it's insides are upside down or something. Has always been extremely useful to me and can be used to monitor things other than frame rates.

I enjoy MSI Afterburner. It can give information besides framerate as well like GPU temperatures and fanspeed. They problem with Afterburner and EVGA precision is that they rely on Rivatuner which doesn't display stats in 64 bit games. There are *very* few 64 bit games, but they do show up from time to time. World of Warcraft being optionally 64 bit.

Bit of info about rivatuner and 64 bit.

FRAPS. I had no idea that there were any options. I would love to hear about alternatives though. FRAPS is good, but it's dumb how the counter will also show up when you are watching video files.

Rivatuner has a blacklist/custom list and you can set problems to be ignored so most media players don't have this issue. XBMC shows it by default, though.

I use my eyeballs with the march 10th beta drivers for better stability.

Is the name "RivaTuner" from the old Riva TNT days?

Is there a particular reason why you guys run these programs or just pure curiosity at how well your computer is running something?

I use Fraps, although I usually just use it whenever I'm curious about my FPS and turn it off shortly after.

Just having the counter running doesn't impact performance at all.

I use MSI Afterburner for overclocking, which also has a built-in OSD to monitor framerate.

I have afterburner for GPU over-clocking and the odd bit of problem analysis if I see something wrong.
