Bioshock, FFX
What is your favorite game that came out this generation and...
Current generation would probably be Braid. I think Blow's reach extends his grasp as a writer, but I can't fault him for being ambitious, and the puzzle design itself was excellent. There are still a bunch of games this gen I think I'd really like that I just haven't gotten around to yet, though (namely Demon/Dark Souls, Neir and Journey).
All-time is way too broad and way too inconstant to say for sure. In general I like Team Ico and older Silent Hill games, I guess.
Would a generation of PCs be separated by processor architecture (x86, AMD64?). Nevermind... just being a dick.
Favorite from this generation - Dragon Age: Origins.
Favorite all-time: You're making me choose between Half-Life and Baldur's Gate 2, and I'd have to go for the latter.
Favourite game of this generation has to be Call of Duty 4 for me. While I don't think it's the best game this generation, it has given me some incredibly fun times with my friends, family, and complete strangers.
Current Gen: Tempted to say Assassin's Creed II as it's the only game I've really gone out of my way to platinum, but I also really loved Borderlands, both Portals and Saints Row The Third.
All-time: The Metal Gear series (Particularly 2 and 3), and select PS1 Final Fantasies (Particularly IX). Although the most fun I've had playing games includes stuff like Stronghold, Starcraft, 007: Nightfire and Red Alert 2. Also I loved Hitman Blood Money A LOT when I first got it. It's one of the few games I own on every platform.
Too long; didn't give a shit about what I care anyway - I can't choose favourites, it's too hard to just select one or two games that are groundbreaking, incredible experiences and loads and loads of fun for various reasons.
All time: Metroid Prime
This Gen: Skyrim
I realized a little while ago what ties many of my favourite games together, and it's a sense of discovery. Whether it's through learning a games mechanics, like a fighter; exploring a new world, like Elder Scrolls, or unravelling the mystery behind a place, like Bioshock; it's one of the things I value most in a game. Which is probably why I didn't really like Bioshock 2, all the mystery and wonder was gone. I've already been here before.
Metroid Prime is everything good in gaming to me, and will likely forever be my favourite game.
This Generation: Skyrim.
As for my favorite of all time, I guess it would be Shadow of the Colossus, We Love Katamari, or MGS3.
Favorite Game of All Time: Super Mario World
Favorite Current Gen Game: Eh, I really haven't finished a lot of games, but I guess Red Dead Redemption would be my pick currently.
Favourite game this gen - Burnout Paradise (probably played this more than anything else)
Favourite game of all time - Timesplitters: Future Perfect
You will get no arguments from me on this one.My favorite game of all time is Super Metroid. There is no game in existence better than Super Metroid and I will hear no arguments to the contrary.
But for best game this generation, I'm not quite sure yet. Bioshock, Braid, Portal 2, Super Mario Galaxy, and World of Goo are all in the running right now. I'll say Super Mario Galaxy right now, but that can change on any given day.

This may shock a lot of you, but I'm starting to wonder whether I prefer Banjo-Tooie over Banjo-Kazooie
NO ! Don't say that ! : (
all time goldeye
that game made me fall in love with videogames
well that and supermario world for gameboy the 90s when nintendo could do no wrong
This generation meaning when the 360 came out till now?
My list would be so dense and cover so much. It ranges from things like Banjo Kazooie N&B, to the Mass Effect series and Bioshock series, to small games like Meatboy, Trials HD, and so on. There are just too many great games this generation. Red Dead too...man! So many great games!
Either Portal, Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed 2, or GTA4. If you put a gun to my head, GTA4. All time is Planescape Torment.
Current Gen - either Portal or Xenoblade Chronicles. Wow factor and value = Portal. Value and cheap bastard factor: Xenoblade Chronicles.
All-Time - Nope. Something in this list: (Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Lumines, Katamari Damacy, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Super Metroid)
...It's probably Super Metroid.
My favorite ever is Diablo 2, but for this generation it's tough to say. I think it would have to be Red Dead Redemption, but Skyrim and Mass Effect 2 aren't far behind.
This Gen- STALKER: Call of Pripyat
Runner Up for This Gen- The Movies or Fallout: New Vegas
Best Series This Gen- Bioshock
All-Time- Silent Hill 2
Runner Up for All-Time- Jak 2 or Shadow of the Colossus
GTA IV, with hopefully V surpassing it. I would say Red Dead Redemption is a more fun game than GTA IV, but it didn't really do much that GTA IV hadn't already accomplished.
Current Generation:
Melty Blood: Actress Again: Current Code
I cheated a little bit here. It's a game released in 2011 for Windows PCs, but it's pretty much an update to the PS2's Melty Blood: Actress Again released in 2009.
If I had to go for a less iffy answer, it would be:
BlazBlue and Street Fighter IV are important to me as they're the games that got me into traditional fighting games.
All-time:
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
I don't know what else to say but Wind Waker was incredibly enjoyable.
