@beachthunder: Yeaaahhh, i totally forgot to add handhelds. The 3DS is killing it these last couple years. My bad :(
Probably PS3 with PC being a close second. I can fully get behind the advantages of a PC, but the console-itis flows through my veins and is engraved in my very soul. Unless the difference is night and day, I'll usually play the console version of most multi-platform releases.
I use my Xbox for COD and other random multiplayer games.
I use my Playstation for everything else. So I guess Playstation everything is my preferred platform.
My PS3, absolutely. It's on most of the time I'm home. I don't have cable so, if I'm watching something it's probably either Netflix or Hulu coming through my PS3. Otherwise, about ninety percent of my gaming is done there. Occasionally I'll boot up my 360, but I've kind of lost interest in the thing at this point. I'm seriously concerned it's on its last legs.
I imagine once I get around to building a new PC, that will be my major source of gaming.
Hm, I feel like @hailinel hasn't seen this thread yet...
Wii U at the moment. Vita would come in second while the PS3 (which was my main system last gen) is used for PS+ games.
PC for obvious reasons. But when it comes to the games I can't play on PC, its the PS3. And the only reason why I say that is because of the exclusives for that system that the 360 didn't have. If not for those PS3 exclusives I would have gone 360.
I played most of my 3rd party games on the 360 because I loved the controller. From about 2010 on I played most of my games on the PC. As for the lastest consoles I'm really torn. I'm leaning PS4 for 3rd party games but I like the Xbox One for media consumption (watching Giant Bomb videos, Netflix, Hulu Plus etc).
PS3, it's the fastest machine from boot to game and it lets you organise your collection into folders. Also, it's a major player in the Japanese market so occasionally some crazy makes its way across the sea. YAY CRAZY!
I started out pretty much solely with the 360 and gradually moved over to the PC.
The 3DS is a ridiculously good little machine too. I don't see myself moving away from those two anytime soon.
I was a ps3 guy for a couple years until my good friend sold me an oldish gaming pc (Phenom II X4 965, GTX 285). So I fell down the pc rabbit hole at that point.
I don't think its that the community is so PC centric, its that we're kind of over last gen stuff and there's not enough new stuff for current gen so we default back to the PC.
@wintersnowblind: I have never bought a hand held, but after fire emblem, a link between worlds, and now bravely default, I am seriously considering buying a 3DS
360 because party chat and it's what I bought the most games for. I don't have PS+ so my PS3 doesn't get too much use. (Actually I use it to play PS1 games more than I do PS3 games... Huh)
I'm planning on getting all the new consoles + a PC so I couldn't tell you which of those I prefer.
Wow, PC's doing a lot better than I thought it would.
(PC for me)
You and me both!
I used to be 360/pc but since new years eve I've unplugged the 360 and been rebuying the few games I want to keep playing (mainly spelunky although I'm waiting for gtav)
I did have plans of getting a ps4 or xb1 but they were out of stock here and now I find the games so uninteresting I'm holding out for something I want to play.
I've dropped playing on my pc for the most part and switched back to mainly playing all my games on ps3 (I'm in a trophy phase right now). I have all these good games I've never gotten around to on the ps3 and I've been trying to knock them out before the storm of new games hits in March, then it'll be PS4 and infamous. Ive also been playing abunch on my Vita...and with FFX hitting soon i dont see that changing.
Mostly on PS3 right now. Most of the games I'm really looking forward to are coming out on it right now and the ones on PS4 I really want won't be coming out for a while (Also I need to get a PS4 first). I only have a laptop but I do some pretty heavy gaming on it every now and then so that's a close second.
I got a PS4 at launch so obviously I've spent the vast majority of my gaming time on PC. Every time I look at my PS4 I just say to myself, "You could've been a better GPU."
Currently i almost exclusively play games on my 360. I would play my PC i have a good amount of steam games but i need a new video card, damn thing overheats under any amount of strain. gets to 90c playing terraria of all things. (its not dust, i think the thermal paste is gone or something, but its not dust and its an old card)
I want to get a PS4 soonish though, but the lack of games is making me hold out on that. I prefer playing games on consoles anyhow, easier and more fun.

I was thinking the same thing... and I ended up buying a gtx 770 :-P instead
