What The Natal will look like come this Fall.
Yup, that's not a black natal. And the color change also hints to a possible new name for the device. Wave seems pretty fitting now that this shook up D8 conference last night. Here's the link.
What happened to once you go black you never go back? I guess there could be black and white color options.
Looks like a Wii sensor bar. Imagine that...
I'm not buying it either way. Had a Wii for a few years that I never used. Plus it's Microsoft, so it wil cost WAY more than it should.
Doesn't look good in white, actually sort of shocked by just how bad it does look in white.
Of course the price is the real issue here.

can we speculate a bit on why there are vents on the side and why the large base whit a metallic cylinder?
The vents are probably for cooling, so can we assume that they didn't trow away the microprocessor inside the unit?
I read somewhere that the base of the Natal actually add a motor (for what? don't know), maybe that's the reason for metallic cylinder?
" I don't mind the white look. All I care about is the price point. "yeah, it might just be that it's both black and white, and releases respectively with the color schemes of the 360s themselves.

" Why would you care how it looked like? It's not as if you'll be staring at it while playing games or anything. It's like complaining about how the Wii's Motion Sensor Bar looks like; no one truly gives a crap. "
The Sensor Bar is completely flat and has a low profile. Many people appreciate when something they see almost every day is aesthetically pleasing, or in the case of the Sensor Bar, not that noticeable. There are other people who are fine with wood panelling in their houses.
