  • Microsoft was good as they played games and had a major announcement
  • Nintendo had a weird presentation as if they thought their audience was a bunch of five year olds
  • Sony had a decent conference as they announced new games but they could have done more

I thought that Microsoft did the best job. Nintendo and Sony did not present enough new and exciting games to get me excited.

Microsoft: Brought us the goods, RE5, Fable 2, Fallout and gears of war 2. Gamings Finest all lined up on the X. Final Fantasy 13 made PS3 irrelevant, and literally made a select few of the rival console owners  cry. If that's not a victory I don't know what is.

Sony: Ill give them one thing, they showed the most games and new games. too bad almost all of them are utterly uninteresting. More bland, generic military shooting games like MAG? come on sony, get some real games.

Nintendo: Shoeless indian air drummers, grandmas on the screen, Carrot top on a balance board? Get real. N has completely lost it and should be taken out of the industry. They're shaming gaming with their terrible approach on the market.

Sonys was probably the most well made of them. But I found Microsofts conference to be more interesting.

Nintendos was just laughable..

Microsoft had the most substance.
Sony had the best presentation and some substance.
Nintendo shot themselves in the foot.

Did anyone else really start to feel bad for that chick on stage?
Also why would they target casual gamers with the conference, what casual gamer pays attention to E3?

Well I figured it was about the time in the console cycle where some pretty big announcements need to be made about where this generation is headed.  While I thought Microsoft did, both Sony and Nintendo failed to meet this objective, but maybe it's too early for them.

1) sony: showed games, and more games, and more games, hardly aimed at the casuals, which I like. Then the announcment of 2 new games. Plus they showed their boring statistics in an interesting way, using little big planet. They also announced a new psp game, which looks good.

2) Microsoft: Partly hardcore, partly casual, which is pretty good, showed some games, and a new dashboard, but then ruined it with avatars.

3)Nintendo, did not watch it, as its all casual, I have a wii but dont use it much.

1.) Microsoft: Best overall, most balanced, unique new stuff, FFXIII thing was rather funny

2.) Sony: Boring but announced new ratchet, MAG was okay, but ALL CG and not even a real MMO...No Killzone 2 (aka reason I have a PS3)

3.) Nintendo: ROFLLMAOLOLWTF so pathetic I wanted to puke

Nintendo: Somehow thought that showing casual games at E3 was sensible, because we all know how many casuals watch E3 press conferences. Also treated the audience like babies. Also puppies and broken wrists.

Sony: Very flashy conference, sooo many TVs! Some good games, but too much time talking about other stuff. LittleBigPlanet powerpoint replacement was amazing.

Microsoft: Kept it simple, showed a lot of great games. I still don't like the new dashboard though.

It was boring. Nothing made me go crazy. Well maybe the GTA announcement for the DS, but anything else was boring.

Microsoft: Solid conference, gave a good amount of time to show off their major games, did a good job showing their new interface and features, showed some casual stuff without shoving it down our throats (ninty...)  and the FF XIII surprise was cool.

Nintendo: Bad conference, little to nothing shown off for their main fans (only things that interested me were AC, Wii Sports Resort, and GTA DS announcement) Too much time spent on non-gamer games. Uh, Nintendo, they don't even know E3 exists...

Sony: Pretty good conference, showed some of their major titles, LittleBigPlanet stat presentation was really awesome. Enough about the PS2 though, it's been irrelevent since the release of God of War 2

I was very disappointed in all the conferences equally. I would give a slight edge to Microsoft for the FFXIII announcement because no one knew it was coming. Most of the other announcements from each conference were leaked early.

Also the developer's conferences were also disappointing. Konami's ending should be nominated for "the worst conference ending" in history.

Microsoft had some great announcements to make, but Sony took the show with their presentation style.

Nintendo?  Ah, Nintendo.  What a mind fuck.
