Oldest that I play actively is Diablo 3. Be it on pc playing seasons or the new 2.3 patch in the PTR, or playing on X1. Several times a week minimum. The endless search for perfect gear and trying new builds, and pushing grifts never gets old for me. I guess I'm one of those kooks Jeff's described about D3, lol.

I do revisit games like the Halo series(currently replaying ODST after that free re-release, and it's damn fun still!), and the Gears of War trilogy occasionally, plus Borderlands 2 upon the new 'Handsome' release, and some others.

Toe Jam and Earl is probably the oldest game I most actively play. I want to say Pong or Super Mario Bros 3 too, but those don't get played nearly as much annually as Toe Jam and Earl.

I guess I'm stretching "actively" here, but whenever I have some real bad downtime during work, I sometimes pull up PuTTY and log in to alt.nethack.org

EDIT: I'll also pull out VVVVVV or Cave Story whenever I'm super bored.

I haven't really been playing games consistently these last few months. I play Nuclear Throne most days, but I have only been playing that for a month. I might start getting into Terraria again thanks to the 1.3 update. I never even finished the content from 1.1 and 1.2. So hopefully this gives me the drive to finish. It's hard to do it only playing singleplayer. I really want one of my friends to play it with me.

I've recently finished playing Super Mario World with my brother. I play through that game once every two years or so. I may also play through SMB or SMB3 on regular intervals that must be counted in years. While I do play SMB2, I find myself bored with that game more easily.

Mega Man 2-5 are regularly visited, with 3 the most frequent. At least one game, each year. I might play one of the X games, but they aren't quite as fun to me as the original blue bomber.

Beyond that, I seem to boot up Skyrim on a bimonthly basis, and twice a year I make an absurdly powerful Morrowind character, make it halfway through the mages guild before losing interest.

For some reason I keep playing The Sims 3. I really don't know why.

I tried a little Vampire: The Masquerade last month. I don't think the world design holds up very well, but I'd love to see a modern game with a bigger, more open world.

Sadly, for this topic anyway, what I'm playing right now are relatively recent releases. I'm in the middle of Batman, the end of Scholar of the First Sin, and the beginning of Witcher 3, which I've been putting off for a while now. I'm also gonna go back to Bloodborne and will play an occasional match of MKX, usually login just to do the premier tower.

I still play the original zoo tycoon game every now and again, it was one of the first PC games I ever played back in 2001/2002

I play it at least a few times a year, sometimes running through the scenarios but usually I just randomly get the urge to make a zoo (and then release all the animals and block the exit once I'm bored of it after a few days/couple weeks to watch the chaos unfold)

While I don't apply to this topic currently, I just want to give a shout-out to Doom 2 multiplayer, which I played almost everyday for 5 years straight from 2008-2013ish.

The user created servers I always played provided me with endless hours of super fast, crazy matches that for whatever reason never got old. The player base was so small that I typically played the same people, which added this weird non-communicative competition that was really appealing.

Hell I played TNT and Plutonium coop with a buddy a few months ago. I fucking love Doom.

Call of Duty 4.. It's installed on my computer, still got some servers running and I go back to it I think because at this point I've gotten real good at it.

Final Fantasy X - though I've moved on to the HD remaster since that was released last year. I've played that game (multiple times for) years in a row (I think only missing 2 years since release waiting for the HD version) with so many hundreds of hours saves (I had one save on PS2 - since lost - at the max clock value of 999 hours in a single file - not including retrying things like blitzball matches or boss fights for techniques and items).

Oh the memories... Maybe I'll put it back in again tomorrow!

At least once a year I find myself replaying the main Ratchet and Clank games along with the Sly Cooper series. They mean a lot to me and were (still are kinda) the biggest inspirations for getting into art. I actually just got done replaying R+C 1 a few minutes ago. I know I have other games I'm currently playing and need to beat first but something always pulls me back to replaying these amazing series first.

Every year since I discovered Ico (which was a few years after it came out), I've played through either it or Shadow of the Colossus every year. Though when my original PS3 died last year, I sold all of my games including the HD collection. So I may skip this year and hope that The Last Guardian satisfies that itch whenever it comes out. Or I might cave and re-buy it.

I guess the Pokemon games kinda count, since I don't go back and replay the originals but I still get sucked into the hype each time the game is rereleased and regret it a few hours later :)

Age of Empires 2, released in 1999 I think, though I play the re-release. Quite excited for the next expansion to release sometime this fall.

The original Rollercoaster Tycoon still gets a spin fairly often, also the second game. I see those games as strangely perfect, every system is neatly designed and fits the game.

I play through all the Ratchet and Clank games in order every once in awhile. Gets kinda tedious though. I don't know why I do it honestly.

Roller Coaster Tycoon would probably be my answer. I still turn it on from time to time and play it. I just really love that game.

I still actively play Super Smash Bros Melee. I'm glad that that is one of the few games which has actually gotten more players as time goes on. I think the community owes a lot to that Smash Bros. Documentary that came out late 2013 for the continued growth.
