You'll be paying for Xbox Live as long as it remain dramatically superior to other services and/or people stop paying for it.
it is only for used games. people buy games used and they can't play online. EA is trying to make people buy it new so they use the code so they can play online. i guess if they do they have 7 days that they can play online, but a lot of the features that it has is going to be locked.
it's a way for EA to get more money from new games and get people who buy the game used money. if the new is new $55 used big deal a little. if they game is say like $30 or something not really a big deal i think. i usually don't buy games used unless it is an older game. i don't buy a lot of EA games either.
