whats up with nintendo??????

idk about most of u guys but i grew up with nintendo and have always loved them however they just seem to be going downhill and it really frustrates me

back in my childhood nintendo was known for its hardware and now its known for being the kid system

the wii was cool fun to play and had some cool games however it was a piece of shit

naturally i was really excited for the big n e3 press conference and when they debuted the wii u i almost jizzed myself however im not as excited for the system as much anymore

its apparent that nintendo doesnt know shit about it aside from the main controller but from all of the demos they showed and from what people are saying it seems like its going to be a wii hd and not something brand new and cutting edge like 64 and gamecube to some extent were even in japan not many people were blown away by it

i feel like they need to listen to their hardcore fans and finally make a next gen system with next gen hardware and graphics

im sorry but a new controller doesnt qualify as next gen and it seems like if all of the rumors are true nintendo will sega dreamcast themselves

they are even fucking up handhelds like 3ds is awesome however vita looks like it will dominate it

those are just my 2 cents feel free to post your thoughts and im sorry about my typing and grammar its just how i like to do it

I dunno, it seems like they're panicking a little in trying to properly follow up the Wii and the DS both which outsold anything similar to it. They clearly have some image issues too, kinda being half-way a nostalgia factory and half-way a children's company. So you end up with games that are incredibly similar to previous entries, games that are aimed at children but with really awkward nostalgic elements crammed in for the rest of us. Very few new IPs, too. It's a bit weird.

I just think it's a bit of an identity crisis, it's not like they're suffering financially, but they can't do what they always do, find a success and simply repeat it. That can't work all the time. You can't just throw out another Wii or DS and say "hey you all bought millions of these, how about millions more?". It's just not going to last them.

Here at Giant Bomb we don't approve of threads that mindlessly bash specific games or consoles. You have made no effort here to back up your points with any form of rational discussion or reasoning. Sentences like:
