What's with the Google logo today?

Hey, jumped on Google today, and I saw this. Is this a glitch? I highly doubt it seeing how many brilliant people maintain the site probably 24 7. Or is it a joke I am not getting, and have to be a hardcore Google fan to get. See it for yourself.

It's my birthday, and thus, Google has recognized.  Makes sense to me.

It looks like Google is putting an SSL system in place, and it's in the beta stage?

Looks completely normal on my end. Mind you I'm in Hong Kong right now so it could be a regional thing.

It's the new SSL encrypted version of google. If you go to https://encrypted.google.com/ it is the same as your picture. How it stumbled into your browser I have no idea though. "

Pacman was obviously a 'Google Doodle', having Beta under the logo does not seem like a doodle. But now it's cleared up so, carry on with your thread readin. "
