The Darkness 2. That game is pretty good, but kinda short. It also has a new game+ and a secret ending.
And Mike Patton is amazing as the "Darkness" voice.

The recent examples I can think of for this were Bioshock Infinite and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
For Bioshock, I wanted to collect achievements and take screenshots on my second play through and The 3DS Zelda was over so quick I went right ahead and played the second quest/hero mode.... whatever it was called.
Bleed 2. beat that, immediately did a second play through with the new character, and beat it probably three or four times within the first few days of having it. it helps that it keeps unlocking new play styles and is about an hour long if you know what you're doing.
it's just got some great shooting and combat, and the parry absolutely makes that game.
Boy, been a lot of these games this here last year.
Dark Souls 3 as I do with every Souls game. Total Warhammer was another. Heck, I finished almost every damn campaign with that game (out of the numerous DLC ones, I've only done the Beastmen however, those charge animations still have me cackling with glee, what a great game that was).
I played through Deus Ex Human Revolution twice. Once on the hardest difficulty, then on the unlockable "you can't ever die" difficulty. I had to restart that 7 times, and I still had a ton of fun. Lately I've been playing through the single-player campaign of For Hono(ur) again on the realistic setting (hardest one, there's no chevrons indicating where the enemy are attacking from, it's all about learning the animations and timing) though most of my time goes into the multiplayer without a doubt.
And I've played through The Witcher 3 twice, as well as each piece of DLC twice. These are all games that just came out last year, too. Where did I find all this time, you may ask? When I should have been sleeping. Insomnia does have very slight advantages.
Finally, I believe Imma' hop into the super-hard difficulty of Nioh when I'm done with that. I really like that game, but I do think it is a bit too easy. I would like to do RE 7 at the super hard difficulty at some point, just don't know when I'll find the time. Torment just came out; and I'm nowhere near having the time to start Horizon: Zero Dawn or Night in the Woods.
It's also probably worth mentioning that I play through Half-Life 2 about once a year, and Baldur's Gate 2 maybe every two years.
Probably last year's Ratchet and Clank. Those games were always excellent at encouraging immediate replays. I played the game three times in a row, the third was to get the trophy for using the Groovatron on all enemies, which still didn't unlock because it was glitched ( I'm assuming). Only one I still need for a platinum.
Before that, Max Payne 3 and DmC I played back to back about 3 or 4 times each, which I very rarely do.
I'd already played through the Uncharted games, but I recently bought the rerelease collection on PS4 and ran through all of those games again over the course of a couple of weeks. Uncharted 2 still rules.
@citizencoffeecake: I love it genuinely. As you say, the days of the B-tier games seem to mostly belong to the past. I often find that I enjoy these more than their counterparts of higher production values, for various reasons, but most often I guess it is the fact that they haven't been polished into a smooth lump.
That's a bit harsh, I applaud AAA-games for their magnificence, but on a personal level I feel that I generally 'connect' better with the B-tier games, perhaps because of their (most often) somewhat flawed nature but clear direction.
Last year I did this with Dark Souls III, DOOM, Ratchet & Clank.
In Dark Souls III's case I was finally satisfied I'd found all the content I could squeeze out, so I started a fresh character (didn't want to hop into NG+ with my blind character, fancied a new start). DOOM I went hopping back through the levels picking up the few collectibles I'd missed - this one feels important to me because it took me quite a while to get into DOOM at first but once I did I couldn't put it down.
Ratchet & Clank was always going to be that way - Challenge Mode has been an integral part of those games forever to me, so there wasn't any doubt that I'd be hopping back in to get all the special weapons and upgrade them all to the max. Still had a ton of fun with it.
Last game I went straight back into Hyper Light Drifter NG+. Last game I went straight back into and played all the way through again was the first Dishonored which I played through twice then immediately played through all of the DLC as well.
DmC
Fun game
Yup, did that for DmC for sure.
Most recently I did it for 'Alienation' which is a shockingly good game and I can't recommend it enough. Before that?... hmm, not sure.
The first thing that comes to mind is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on 3DS. It was my first time playing through the game (never had an N64 growing up) and for whatever reason I was not ready to leave it behind by the time I finished it so I started again. I didn't even start again on Master Quest I just started a new save for the regular game. I did not end up beating it a second time but I probably played through about half of the game on my second go.
Hitman, but I'm not sure if that counts. It wasn't a "beat the last level, then played the levels again in order", but more of a "beat the last level, then went back to Sapienza to unlock something, then did some Hokkaido unlocks, then tried and gave up on the Colorado escalation, then dicked around with the Home Alone thing in Paris, etc."
That game is real good.
I did start up DOOM almost immediately after beating it. I never finished it that 2nd time through though.
The last game that I've literally played all the way through twice in a row is Witcher 2. For those unfamiliar with the game, a solid 30% of that game is entirely different depending on the decision you make at the end of the 1st act. Obviously that works for this situation so it made way more sense to want to play it again to see all sides of the story.
