P.S. Oh and '3DS' sounds awesome.
www.youtube.com/markb0sswhen will they stop blaming it on video games?
P.S. Oh and '3DS' sounds awesome.
www.youtube.com/markb0ssNever, simply because parents are too proud to place the blame on themselves. It is the parent's responsibility to monitor what their children are playing.
It wont happen until we get a new media form, even when this generation gets into power they will be enough people anti-video games to annoy gamers. Eventually it will go away, it used to be rap music (side note, Snoop Dogg was on the Daily Show and Jon said "Remember when we hated you?"), rock music, house music, films? Everything new is hated and blamed for society's problems, though I cant give a reason for all of it part of it is that parents seem to want to blame other things rather than their own inept parenting. As typified when Alan Titchmarsh asked how parents can prevent games getting into their house (and somehow tried to say that you cant stop games but you can stop DVD's?) when the answer isnt up to the gaming industry (though they do a lot) its just a matter of parents caring what their childrens are doing and taking the time to have look into it and see whether its ok for their child to play it or do they need to be older.
Dude, why should I admit that I'm the cause of pretty much all of my problems? It's much easier for me to blame EA.
Never unfortunately.
Nah, I'm sure will be a time in the future, but until then, I'm gonna go rape, kill and promote hatrid, as apparently they say in that video. I also hate that blond woman. Someone slay her.
" Simple. When all of their generation dies out and we slowly replace them out. That or when people find a new entertainment medium which they can blame all their problems at. "Yerp. Old people can never accept new things unfortunately.
That woman talks about a study where kids who play violent video games makes them more aggressive etc. But do people not realize that maybe they were aggressive and that's what led them to play those games? Playing a sports game doesn't cause someone to like sports, liking sports makes them want to play sports games. Though I never had the urge to roll things into a giant ball until I played katamari.
" Never. "Oh, it shall end, but only when those who grew up with gaming/appreciate all it has created are in control. Until then, video games might as well be synonymous with lazy.
@Meteora: I like your take on this :)
@Axxol: this is a popular theory. One which I think has truth.
@Pazy: See this is the thing right here. Parents just dont realise that games have changed since the past ten yrs and there are ALOT more adult aged games then before. Therefore they have the mentality that its ok to give it them. If they just woke up abit, this would really help in putthing this argument to rest.
@natetodamax: maybe your right.
@Bellum: LMAO =)
@CornontheCobbe: Im gonna slay her right after this reply.
@Ryax: ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
@Rirobuge: YOU TOO!
@Iceman2913: thats not true dude, have faith
When the old generations are dead. Noticed how everybody on that show (besides the defender, obviously) are old? They're the ones complaining and being Luddites, while the new generations are in favor of videogames.
When video games become the norm, like Rock and Roll and metal. Remember what they said about those things, and in some cases still do. People then blamed it on rap, and now video games. I don't know what'll come next, but I wouldn't hold my breath. People will always think they can blame bad parenting or cultural failures on outside influences.
I'm gonna go with when robots become ingrained into everyday life. There's plenty of things to freak out about there, like sex robots, killer robots, robots taking the jobs of humans, etc. The sad thing is it will probably be us bitching about those things while twentysomething robot fuckers hope that we hurry up and die. And so it continues...
The solution? Aschimothusia!
