A few years ago all of my friends were on Xbox Live, but now almost everyone I play with primarily uses PSN. I can think of nine people I know in real life that I play PS3 games online with, but only two that I play Xbox games with. Has anyone else noticed the tide turn?
Where are your friends?
All of my friends in highschool were more into PS3 for some reason, so I guess no, I never saw that tide turn. It was always that way for me.

Not that it matters since they don't really play that much anyway.
I guess I'm not alone. I don't really mind it though.
Every real-life acquaintance I've made over the years that games online usually has a PSN account for some reason, with some exceptions of course. Just some examples:
- Dude I work with plays online via PSN. (Only plays Call of Duty.)
- Dude I used to work with has a PSN account (seen him online 3-4 times in 2 years -- only plays Call of Duty from what I can tell.)
- Guy in one of my classes plays via Xbox Live. (Only plays Call of Duty.)
- Dude I know through a friend plays via Steam and PSN.
So yeah, mostly PSN. I try to keep my lists on PSN and Xbox Live to just people I know in real life, but none of them are online enough, or play anything except Call of Duty to really warrant that to be honest. I should just add some cool people from here someday.
My girlfriend and most people I know are on PSN, there's two other guys who I on PC exclusively, but everyone else I have on PC (Steam etc.) is on PSN.
But I do know a guy who brought an X360 and now plays that instead of his PS3, but all he plays is Call of Duty so it's not a massive loss.. (I generally see the Xbox as more a console for people who play one game online mainly, rather than single-player and other forms of game.)
Almost none of my friends have a PS3. All of them have 360 and Live. The one who does own a PS3 pretty much just uses it as a Blu-ray player now.
Everyone I knew in high school who gamed had a PS2 while I had an Xbox and now they all have 360's over PS3. Mostly the games and cheaper console prices did it. I know one dude with a PS3 and he doesn't even hook his up to the internet even though he has internet.

My close high school buddies are on PSN. Actually, most of my RL buddies are on PSN. My friends on XBL consist of my cousin, a couple RL friends, and a bunch of you duders.
Same thing, except replace XBL with Steam.
Every time I make a new friend and I find out they love games, its always PSN.

all my friends are on psn or pc anyway so... yearh
Most of my friends who are into video games have a PS3, I can think of only three people who play on Live. The fact that I'm European might have something to do with that, I imagine the Live community is larger in the US.
My friends are on the PC so I haven't noticed that shift.
Guess it's more me, as a friend, who has migrated from Xbox Live to the PC.
Pretty much all of my friends are Xbox.
A good few are Steam but I don't play.
Friends list of something like 94.
Know all IRL minus 2 GB bro's that have added me. I used to add people I met in games etc but I started loosing track of things.
There are some who have both but I wouldn't know seeing as I am PS3-less.
@digitalsea87
England here and the Live comunity here is huge besides PSN.
I guess it depends what part of Europe etc you're from.
I think the majority of my friends have always been on steam but besides that the majority have shifted from PSN to XBL.
The ones who actually play cames more than once a month are still on XBL. However even that list is getting smaller last on 90 days ago... :(
