Didnt see it =(
Where was Deus Ex 3
It´s was not supposed to be there, i wish it was though. That was the one game i would have hoped to see more of. But nice to see another wanting the same thing, seems like its under peoples radars, and i don´t understand why that is.
(nobody fly off the handle, this is just how I see it) I reckon it's because most of the people who never owned a PC around the time it was released have no idea what it even is, and those who do own a console and played Deus Ex 2 are cautious.
Whereas the impression I get from a lot of te Deus Ex fans is that they dislike some of te design decisions being made, so aren't particularly looking forward to it. My guess is it's going to be like Fallout 3, whether it's a good game of it's own merits or not it irrelevent, it's going to sell because a huge number of people have heard the name, but never played it, and dont want to play an old game.
I'm looking forward to it though, hoping it will be really good.
I guess you have a point there, i keep forgetting how old the first Deus Ex game actually is. So i see why newer gamers don´t know much about this franchise. But man the concept art and scans that was released on the net some months ago or so, was so damn sweet, i might just be expecting too much from this game and Warren Spector.
Less we see of it, the better.

Warren Spector's not working on it.
Lead developer is someone who thought the original was too 'slow'.
Yeah I read that comment in PCGamer, made my blood boil.
But i've come to accept that these days FPS/RPG hybrid actually means 90% FPS with an inventory menu and some dialogue options. So i'll take what I can get :\

The new Thief will probably experience the same mix of apathy and apprehension. I completely agree that some people will buy the game [Deus Ex 3] because of everything they heard about the earlier games. But, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Bioshock was trumpeted as the "spiritual successor" to the PC classic System Shock 2. I don't know how many people were motivated to buy the game because of that, but I do believe that the game got a lot of press coverage because of System Shock 2's strong reputation. I think Dragon Age: Origins is undergoing the same phenomenon since most written impressions seem to refer back to Baulder's Gate. But, if the final product is strong, I don't care how people come to know the game, just as long as they buy it, play it, and have fun with it. Yeah I guess it's happening a lot nowadays. Although, more coverage is always good, I just can't help but feel most of the people taking advantage of a franchise name like this don't have the fans interests at heart, but hey people have been abusing franchise names for years. At least with Bioshock and Dragon Age etc you can feel the love, but companies making a direct sequel in this manner usually just want te cash such a widely recognised names will bring in (Bethesda certainly did, and EA have System Shock 3 on the go after the success of Bioshock)
I could be wrong, but I thought on one of the making of Bioshock videos someone mentioned EA had System Shock 3 in development, then shortly after Biosocks sales figures were returned, EA said they do have plans to make it. As for confirmed? I dunno, a lot of projects get cancelled pretty early on. I could be wrong, but i'm sure it's everything but confirmed.
Edit: Anyone so much as implies it's ripping off Dead Space, i'll tear their faces off. Forum Stylee. :P
Unless of course it totally does rip-off Dead Space with the third person mechanics, limb severing, general plot etc.
