This just doesn't seem like the community for this conversation. GiantBomb always seems to dislike sexualized characters in games, which is kind of odd because you'd think the overlapping Screened community would object more to sexualized characters in movies (like in Just Go With It.) I get the whole "it's just pixels dude" argument, but I always felt like that argument was sort of invalid when you remember most photoshoots and films can be digitally edited anyways...not to mention, of course, that at this point digital projecters are "just pixels" too, and even before that women in photographs and in movies were "just film, dude." To take on this particular concept as super-creepy from a "because-they're-video-game-characters" perspective just seems flawed without taking on the entire porn industry.
That said, I don't have any answer for you; I'm not personally sexually attracted to video game characters. I can't think of a lady in games that was well-written enough to really get me at all emotionally invested in the character, and I see beautiful women on television often enough anyways that a beautiful woman in a game with no personality just doesn't really have any impact. I'm actually inclined to say Vanille from FFXIII might be my type from the first three hours or so of the game, but her bizarre, broken accent almost makes me hate the character entirely. Also, I am getting emotionally invested in the cast of Persona 4, but the art in that game is so limited that they feel more like a handful of screenshots with AMAZING PERSONALITIES to me than people I'd enjoy sexmaking.
Sometimes, though, there'll be characters that are sexually attractive that make me think of people I actually know and make me want to sleep with those people more. A handful of Dead or Alive characters or Soul Calibur characters do look enough like women I've actually met that it at least makes me think of them.
