black ops is better. i didn't like that the kill-streaks didn't add up, like in mw2 people had attack chopper, something else, and then nuke.

Black Ops is better, MW2 is just a clusterfuck in multiplayer.

MW2 single player is better. Blops multiplayer is best though.

MW2 has a bunch of noob tubers( one man army, danger close .....) makes it almost unplayable.

MW2 for single player but I enjoyed the multiplayer in black ops more.

They both have their obvious problems. Neither game is truly remarkable, but id go with MW2 just because of the single player. 

What's the difference between the two? Seriously ever since 4 they've just been releasing the same game over and over again every year.

BlOps' single player might as well not have existed. It was repulsive. MP was okay...
 
MW2 has a decent (for CoD) single player and a tolerable MP. I thought the maps were better than BlOps'.

Modern warfare 2 made black ops seem extraordinary.

mw2 has stopping power so it's better. stopping power and cold blooded in one perk tier = balanced game. the only problem was, and still is, the community and by that i mean kids with ump45.  
black ops is a complete mess. don't even get me started on this game. treyarch is a bunch of morons. it's sad that their games are actually selling and raven is a map pack studio now. it should be the other way around.

I like both the same in terms of the online play. However, as weird as it sounds I enjoyed MW2 more for its story. I seemed to like Soap more than Mason, so I'm basing my decision on that haha!

I've only played CoD4: MW1 and it's pretty fun, but I can't imagine wanting to play more of the same. Battlefield is so much deeper. CoD is pretty much a modern Quake, it's twitch based combat. Which is fun sometimes and I like it, but BF is more fun, at least with friends. CoD is more fun if you are lone wolfing it.

Sorry for not at all answering your question, but like I said I can't imagine playing more of the same even if they have changed a few things so I have not played either MW2 or Black Ops.

Modern Warfare 2

I would say that, when it was first released, Black Ops was definitely better. Playing both games now, Modern Warfare 2 is a much more fair (and fun) multiplayer experience.

So if i've BARELY ever played a Call of duty game online before, and I was looking for a FPS mutliplayer experience that is fun, should I buy Black Ops or MW2?

There's an audience of fans for both, best way is to play both to find out for sure.

Dropping a tactical nuke made MW2 more fun.

I like Black Ops maps and guns more and being able to play online splitscreen is pretty cool.

I think Black Ops is a stronger overall game compared to Modern Warfare 2, which had, and still has, a messy excuse for multiplayer.

if you're asking which game is more fully featured, black ops wins. if you're asking about which plays and sounds better despite its flaws, MW2. Weapons in BO sound generic and wimpy compared to MW2. MW2 is def not without its flaws but the overall feel of the game combined with the subject matter wins me over.
