Poll Which Troy Baker character did you like more? (307 votes)

Joel (The Last of Us). 45%
Booker Dewitt (Bioshock Infinite). 15%
Neither, I disliked both characters. 2%
I liked them both equally. 10%
I haven't played either of those games, so I wouldn't know. 7%
I've only played one of those games, so I can't necessarily judge. 21%

I was just wondering. It seems like there's more focus on Ellie and Elizabeth, and I guess rightly so, but that brought me to this question. I hope it hasn't been asked on here before, I didn't see that it was.

I would have said Booker but now that I'm getting further into Last of Us, I feel comfortable siding with Joel.

I have not played the last of us, but from the videos, Joel already seemed more interesting to me. Booker was a fucking moron. Just something about him I could not stand playing as. Ugh, fuck Booker.

Kanji! Everyone else can get bent.

Real answer is Booker.

I like Booker, but his character is pretty darn flat when you really think about it. He doesn't really develop or grow, or have elements of his personality contrast with those of other characters. He's just kind of a dude that does things and has things happen to him. Conversely, Joel takes his very grounded character in some really interesting directions as he reveals more about himself through various characters. I mean, just as an example for anyone that's played both games; Compare Joel and Tommy's relationship to Booker and Slate's. In both cases, they're characters that are very important to the past of the main character, and yet in Joel's case the interactions tell you so much more about the kind of guy he is. Booker's interactions with Slate consist almost entirely of "Huh, what's he doing? What's up with this guy?" Again, i'm not saying I hate Booker, but Joel just has a lot more going on. I also think Joel's voice-acting is just leaps ahead of Booker's. Joel sounds like a middle-aged, grizzled southern gent. Booker sounds like a god damn cartoon character.

Also Kanji is great yes.

I wish GB would bring back the Northies this year and award it to Troy Baker.

James in silent hill HD collection ;)

Haven't played either game, but got to know about his work through Kanji, so I'll probably never get rid of that connection whenever I hear his voice. He seems like a really cool guy, just getting a little Nolan Northy with him being everywhere. =P

Booker is a boring character and I never played The Last of Us.
