There are a few people that I really hope they don't go with, that out of "kindness" or whatever will remain nameless. My dream is Justin McElroy, even though it absolutely will not happen for a few different reasons. He makes so much sense, is incredibly funny, and in a totally different way to the current bombcrew. Plus Ryan cited him as a guy he really respected for bringing the funny to video game coverage. He also has mad podcasting/host skills, as he hosts MBMBaM and the Besties (which is not nearly as good, but still).

More likely though, I hope they hire a fresh face nobody knows. I don't really care who it is as long as they fit in!

Though what I really want is for that guy to follow me around all the time offering encouragement and enthusiasm and ginormous smiles for anything I do. It's the only way I'll ever be able to make it through day after day for the rest of my empty, worthless life without going completely insane. Hell, with his enthusiasm and encouragement behind me I might actually even manage to accomplish something and enjoy myself once in a while, which currently seems impossible.

I can't be the only one who read into Jeff's talk about a new hire as it relates to the difficulty of putting on a live show / video content as meaning they were hiring a new AV person to handle backroom stuff for streams and videos right? I mean that seems to be the way to go for them.

So you're disagreeing with one article she's written? I've disagreed with one or a few articles written by just about everyone listed so far in this thread, but that doesn't take away from the fact that she (and most of the others mentioned here) have written plenty of interesting and well researched articles.

I love Jeff Green and his work, but isn't he a little old for GB? He doesn't seem the like the type to down a Tall boy Rockstar yellow with Jeff before a video show about random dumb games.

I want to be pleasantly surprised by someone, like I was by Patrick. He's a great pick who brings something new to the site while jiving really well with the core duders. That said, I would not in the least be disappointed if Danny O'Dwyer joined the crew.

Jeff Cannata and Garnett Lee would be top of my list. Danny would be great, but let's be real, dude is one of the figureheads at GS at this point, not happening. Shawn Elliot would also be a great choice. I'd be okay with an unknown, just some guy who loves video games and can be funny (just an FYI I love video games and will work for just enough to keep me fed on Ramen and Chocolate Milk). I'd also really appreciate a lady on the crew. Jenn Frank 4 Lyfe or poach Cara Ellison.

Honestly though, the real answers have already been said, Riff Raff and Ice-T are coming to GB guys. Get ready.

My choices are a) a video guy or two so that Vinny and Drew can do more stuff, or b) somebody who isn't currently known/well known. I actively dislike most of the people that always come up in these threads, which is part of the reason I'm on Giant Bomb in the first place.

I mean, I would hope it's someone to take the work that Vinny and Drew have to be off camera to do.

However having Danny O'dwyer would be incredible (all though I don't know how realistic this is...)

I like Jeff Cannata, but I don't know if he's the best fit for GB. Besides, he works as an actor out of LA (and seems to be quite busy doing plays, commercials, and TV shows), so I doubt he would even relocate to SF.

A lot of people are suggesting Garnett Lee, which also makes sense, as he's a smart, opinionated video game vet. However, it seems like he's been "the guy" for so long that I doubt it would work well for him to come to GB, in which he would be part of the ensemble. I'd love for him to guest on the Bombcast, though.

Jeff Green is definitely my pick. His personality/sense of humor just seems to fit GB, and he would bring a different perspective having worked for a large game company. Plus, he plays enough Dark Souls to meet the Giant Bomb minimum-Souls played.

It would be great for them to get a new writer like Jeff Green, and maybe a video guy or two to take the burden off Drew and Vinny. Here's hoping CBSi lets them expand.

The McElroy brothers, such a great type of humor they bring. Though I'm guessing Giantbomb would rather have people that can work at their office, and neither of those two are going to be moving.
