This. I feel like if you're not voting for Shawn Elliott, then you never listened to GFW Radio. It was the funniest, most interesting, and thought provoking video game podcast of all time (sorry Giant bombcast), and Shawn was a huge part of that. He's also a brilliant writer.

Jeff Green was a great host for GFW Radio, and everyone knows the Giant Bombcast needs a new host. Can you imagine if both Jeff and Shawn got hired and the forces of GFW Radio and Giant bomb were to collide...?

In all seriousness, I'm not sure. I'd like to see Danny, but we all know that isn't happening, so in all likelihood, it will be someone who has yet to really appear on camera, but knows a lot about the industry.

Someone who is going to be covering games and plays a lot. Not doing anything else at GB like some of the other guys. So when it's their turn on the Bombcast to say what they've been playing they always have been playing something and has insight on all the new games and news.

Well Shawn Elliott's a bust now that he's gone to join the crew at Arkane. If they need video crew, they should hire Baz from VGCW or Maffew from Botchamania. Then you have an extra guy guaranteed for the Powerbombcast and an incentive to do them far more often than they clip they've been at lately.

Hire a guy to go to all the meetings that Jeff has to attend so that Jeff can, once again, be the 24/7 content machine that both God and Science meant for him to be.

How about somebody new for once. New faces are always good to see in such a close knit industry.

I dunno. I'd like someone who would come to QLs with a little more enthusiasm. It's not an issue on bad games since it's fun to listen to them rip on them, but sometimes Jeff and Brad seem like they'd rather be doing anything other playing a game and it takes away from a good or decent game. Vinny can't always be the ray of sunshine.

Either Tom Cruise or Steven Spielberg.

I'm not sure their schedule, but they might be between projects and looking for a new opportunity.

Steven could take the video production to another level and as for Tom... well he could stand on that couch and scream something.

As much as I like Shawn Elliott, I think he would be a terrible fit for GiantBomb's brand of comedy.

I'm unsure how Jeff Cannata or Jeff Green would fit in. Def not Garnett Lee, like the dude, but only when it comes to serious games discussion.

Danny O'Dwyer is the only person I can think of that would fit in. I mean, he already fits in more naturally than Klepek does.

Far-fetched ideas would be Giancarlo Varanini. Or Rich Gallup. Or Carrie Gouskos. Like 2006 Carrie, I don't know what she is like now.

It's not assuming in this case, since the crew have openly expressed that they're looking to hire somebody.

How about instead a study in some prominent business journal thingy that proves that meetings are the huge waste of time and resources that we all already know they are. No more meetings for Jeff! No more meetings for anyone! Yaaaaaaaay!

I think Jeff Canatta might work, although he is in LA. Justin McElroy would be great, but I dont think he will move to the west coast.

I would like someone who is very extroverted and who has enough charm to navigate the crew with confidence. The crew needs a playful rambunctious puppy that they all can love and laugh with.

Now that I'm seeing another round of suggestions, I'm definitely coming around to the idea that with Giant Bomb's reputation and capabilities, I think it's not only smart but responsible for GB to hire someone whose relatively green or a complete unknown. More than even Patrick, seeing someone grow on the site as either a producer, video editor, personality, and/or host could be something special. Some young girl or guy (leaning on girl a bit) who has the chops and (hopefully) some context for this site could be exactly what they need and a nice side-step to all the baggage a "veteran" could bring who doesn't need a site like this to be who they are. Worst case scenario, he or she stay in the background and they just help out the crew much like Drew did for a while before crept into the limelight.

That and the only person who shown she could hang is Hannah Foell. Jeff Green can hang as well but he's going into consultancy and I don't think he needs the help at this point.

Also, it's kind of weird but technically, out there in the world right now, <.<...>.> is the newest GB hire. Scary.

I'm just wondering now will the hire(s) be before or after E3. I woulda thought before E3 so the current GB crew have some support in the chaos but then perhaps after E3 is the way to go as it would be pretty unfair to throw the new guys in at the deep end in their first moments at GB. Unless they're a hardened veteran! The plot thickens..
