It's probably just me, being ho hum about shooters on the horizon and motion controls and such. This has been a lackluster E3 for me. Anyway, who else is burnt out on interviews and ready for more QLs?
Who here is actually sick of E3 now?
This E3 has been less exciting for me this year, as I knew most of the games I intended to purchase. That being said, I'm still glad I paid attention to it due to the fact I found out about Driver: San Francisco from it - a fact that makes me ecstatic.
I liked this years show, personally. But I guess that's because I'm a Nintendo fan it was nice to see them deliver with a ton of stuff that I'm excited for. Donkey Kong, Zelda, Kirby, Kid Icarus, and the 3DS.
If you mean the giantbomb content then yes, the podcasts sucked, and I prefer quick looks to interviews and regurgitated press releases. Plus so much talk was taken up by motion controls and 'the future of gaming'. It should be all back to normal this week though.
E3 2010 was a major disappointment. There was far too much emphasis on movement controllers from both Microsoft and Sony as well as the fact that Nintendo's 3DS doesn't look anything all too special.
Hell I loved this e3. I don't care about the motion control stuff much myself, but at least the Harmonix dance game sounded promising.
Beyond that, 3DS alone made the show for me. Castlevania, Metroid Other M, Bulletstorm, DeusEx3, Call of Duty Black Ops, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, MORE Halo Reach (FIREFIGHT!), Metal Gear Solid Rising, Portal2, Zelda Skyward Sword, Mortal Kombat, oh yeah and Trine 2.
Lotta stuff, I thought.
I thought it was one of the better E3s in recent memory. Considering we're mid-cycle, it was very impressive. There have been a lot, lot worse in the past.
Im just sick of all the kinect talk tbh. It doesn't do anything to push core gaming forward and im kinda sick of them constantly talking about it on those bombcasts. Hopefully no more talk on kinect.
I enjoyed this years E3 and I thought Giantbomb's coverage was awesome.
E3 isn't about Quick Looks and shoving game footage out everywhere, it's about information and stories.
The press conferences are merely a small percentage of all that happens at E3.
It must suck to have to read rather than just hit play and drool and stare at someone play a game for you.
I'm sick that I didn't get to go and play some of that stuff myself, but I ain't no wordsmith what with me poor grammers and such. Run on.
I enjoyed all the Giant Bomb stuff and i hunger for more.
I don't really like to hear about all the various facets of games before they're even released so a majority of e3 is lost on me. Plus I really hate the way a lot of the coverage about some game is simply the developer pitching the game's storyline in a couple of minutes.
New game announcements, gameplay footage and new hardware are all I really look for in e3.
Hmmm. I dunno. To me, the 3DS was alright, but I'll believe it when I see it. Kinect is still too goofy for me to really enjoy, though the UI mentioned seems alright. I loved the concept of the Wii until the second I played it and I realized that flailing about isn't all that fun to me (with a few exceptions, like No More Heroes). Games this year were light for me. Those I'm excited for: Deus Ex, Portal 2, Shogun 2, Assassin's creed brotherhood, Disciples 3, Fallout New Vegas. That's it. I dunno. Being mid-cycle, that is when development really focuses in on great games, usually, but it's all hardware and to me a hardware focused E3 just isn't as interesting. Hardware focused E3's just mean I'll spend more money and clutter my TV table with more junk in order to stay up to date with what I actually care about, which are the games themselves. I guess I'm just more a software guy than a hardware guy. This one just left me felling sort of blah.
