Why should you get a PSP go?

Why would anyone buy this thing, it has a higher price tag and a smaller screen. Also all of your old games cannot be used on it I really dont see a reason to trade in my old one to get this one it seems almost as if doing that would be a downgrade.

Actually, Sony will be implementing some sort of goodwill program for UMD back catalogues at some point. Someone teased that out of Koller or someone else today, I think. Maybe Kaz. I don't remember who or where.

It's lighter, smaller, and I freaking hate UMDs with a passion. 

eh if it was a bit cheaper, and if some more good games come out i could possibly see myself getting the psp go despite my better judgment.  I'd get the white one.

I only use a psp for Lumines, I am selling my other psp i got for free tomorrow. PSP is just a dust collector for me, and when i can't sleep. i play lumines

It looks cooler to me, and bigger hard drive, f**k the UMD, it's all about PSN. Besides they said the going forward all releases will get a digital release in the same day as the physical, if there is one. Oh and Grand Turismo.

I haven't played anything on my original PSP in years, no way I'd be picking up this one.

At its current price point, I can't answer that. I was actually really interested in this until the 249.99 rolled up on the screen. It was almost a one-to-one parody of the PS3 price reveal.

I want to get one, but it would be awesome if they implemented trophies into there games.

When psp 2 comes out (with 2 analog nubs) then I'll get a psp

You shouldn't.  Sony has just realized that people will go and buy new versions of the same electronic for a bigger price tag simply because it's smaller than the last one.  See also:  Apple.

My old PSP broke, this one will be easier to carry around, sure i'll pick it up.

I would buy it, idc about the price but no UMD support, now thats just evil.

Im thinking of getting one as a replacement for my current PSP (first gen) which is falling apart. But only if they let you transfer you UMD's (games and movies because I actually like to use it to watch films in my bed). If you cant transfer it then ill leave it until it gets a lot cheaper and just get my current PSP repaired (or a preowned old PSP or somethong).

As the device goes, ignoring price and if I can use my old media, it definately looks quite cool and the position of the buttoms seems a bit better. The fact that its small is not really a benefit to me since I have big pockets since i have big hands.

Lighter, smaller, integrated storage, Bluetooth. I've heard from some who got a hands-on that the analog nub felt better. Was anything said about battery life? I'd think with a smaller screen and no UMD it could be better, but the battery is probably also smaller. Speaking of battery, it's not removable which kinda sucks. Yes, some people hate that the screen is smaller, but this is a better design for what is supposed to be a portable device.

Are they even doing anything with the bluetooth I didn't hear anything announced except that you can hook it up to a phone (WHY? no on knows) and they did not say anything about improved battery life very strange.

Darn....no touchscreen.  If it had that, I'd be waiting in line for it.  For now, I'll be in "wait and see" mode.  I'll be eagerly awaiting the reviews from GB and others to see how they feel about the new PSP.

Because it fits comfortably in my pocket.

I'm hoping all the new downloadable content works on the old PSP as well, because I don't want to have to buy one of these things just for Resident Evil PSP.

Because I sold my old PSP back in November, and I'm always a big sucker for the newest product from Sony or like Microsoft. Will I buy it, though? Probably not.

This reminds me of the GBA Micro, was kinda an upgrade to the SP but totaly worth it to me.

In all seriousness though, I think the main thing is the bluetooth. If you were able to pair a DualShock 3 to that thing it would be pretty awesome for TV out play. And if you like the design, that's a bonus.

Well I think it looks nice. It's a small device and with 16GB, I can pretty much put all my music in it with plenty of space left. I won't get it on launch day though. You're right. $249 is too much for a system without a UMD slot, so I'll wait until the price is dropped to $249.

It's much more portable, and I'm a big supporter of digital download games.  The internal memory that's also expandable is what pushed me over the edge.  Gonna put all my PSone classics on it for playing on lunch at work.

I always wanted a good reason to pick up a PSP, never found one sadly.

I'll be buying one, not completely sure why though. I've had a PSP before but never played it. I think the fact that the PSP Go is dedicated to download games makes it more attractive to me, and it's a really nice design. I have quite a few downloads to put on it at the moment waiting. I need a new console of some kind as well, need a new gadget to keep me occupied for a while.

Well I'll buy it just for collection... Making a showroom of Sony PlayStation products...
