I hope it doesn't either. I don't even like 3D films.

Not by a long shot, I'm glad that the tech has been put in the spotlight again though, as it's helping drive things forward. What gaming will mean next gen or after, I have no idéa.

Thank you. Although it was more of a shot to the nitwits out there who thought I was a bigot for claiming internet memes are gay.

Which they are.

If 3D becomes something that is included in pretty much every TV set, like component and hdmi ports, yes I think most games will ship with a 3D mode. But I doubt that will become something you need to have in order to play games, like 5.1 sound. Besides, it's just a stupid fad that will probably pass and come back 15 year later as the cool "new" thing. I don't know if I'm the only one, but those 3D films look like Paper Mario to me, a bunch of cutouts arranged as if they were a pop-up book.

Like motion controls, if it becomes dominant, that's when I completely stop playing games.

But seriously. I have a messed up eye so 3D glasses don't work for me. I certainly hope they don't become standard.

Like 3d how? Glasses with a $4000 TV or  Red and Cyan Glasses and a cheap TV. Or like Virtual Reality. Or a combination with wii style controls?

Personally i don't like any of the above. I for one don't mind using a controller, keyboard or mouse.  When Microsoft announced Natal, and Playstation the Move I simply asked: "Can't i just get a keyboard and mouse?"

Glasses will disappear, the TV's will reach sub-$1000, 3d capable blu-ray players will be the only ones released within 3 years, and TV's will only come in 3d enabled within ten. I will admit, 3d was pushed into homes while it was still too early, but 3dtv will be the new HDTV. I mean, how else will manufacturers be able to sell you a new TV.

Edit: To all those people that have a legitimate reason for not being able to enjoy 3d for some reason, there will always be a switch to turn it off. To every other person that hates 3d, suck it, there is nothing to complain about because it is just a value added feature on a high end TV. TV makers are implementing 3d because they have hit a limit on the development of HDTV's where it will cost too much money to improve the picture quality.

I don't know but I like 3D movies and games so they might make the technology standard similar to Blu-ray.

Well, the (gaming) industry surely is pushing it, but for me... i'm perfectly fine with HD for the foreseeable future.
