Will Sony Beat Xbox???

during the e3 360 press conference microsoft stated that they will beat sony in the console war. But alot of people dont agree with him. I personally do because theyre already on top of sony and although european ps3 sales are growing, i think that time is limited.

Well of course Microsoft would say they will win. Then again, you can't blame MS for trying to save face, their console got a head start on the Wii and Nintendo still whooped them.
As for who will win, anything could happen, it's too early to tell.
Another problem lies in the life cycle of the two consoles. Sony says the PS3 will last a long long time, which is good for PS3 owners. The 360 was designed to have a much shorter lifespan, so really I don't understand how MS can beat Sony when the consoles will not match up in generation.

Im a sony fanboy but im really dissappointed with them  right now.Theres so much stuff they could do to make the ps3 soo awesome but their just not doing it

I really doubt they will. If you use some logic you can see how its not even possible, honestly.

First of all, PS3 came out more then a YEAR after 360 and its already topping it in Europe. Then you see PS3 beating 360 a few months in a row now. And if you line up the PS3 with the 360 (as if they came out on the same day) PS3 is winning, despite the price, the lack of games early on, and the PS3 having competition, when the 360 launched it didn't.

THEN you look at the PS3s price, which is going down, and the consoles lifespan, which will be 10 years (which I truly believe because the console is always evolving with new features via firmware updates), and the 360 won't last that long so PS3 will be competing with the next Xbox most likely.

Also look at exclusives, PS3 has the same amount if not more quality exclusive titles, despite the year gap. And PS3 has more exclusive games in 08, with a lot more coming in 09. What 360 exclusives are there to compete with PS3 ones in 09? A lot less thats for sure.

And then you have PSN a year and half old service, vs XBL a 5 year old service, with one free and the other not; PSN is catching up to XBL greatly, by this time next year I wouldn't be surprised to see it exceed XBL in some ways.

So all in all I don't think what they are saying is even possible due to how long they will be in the race, and the actual profitting of both systems (360 just made profit lmao). But thats just IMO.

Who Knows. Microsoft is doing pretty well with the 360. Sony's PS3 is getting some ground, but are lacking in exclusivity. I think FFXIII going on both the 360 and PS3 was a pretty big hit in the face for Sony. Nintendo's Wii is selling more then the other two, but  a majority of the games released are not so great.

i like sony but your wrong when you say this.

sony has been loosing money on every system they sell and relied on the games to make a profit for them.
so far this strategy hasnt worked. the stats your looking at is the entire devices division of sony which makes tonnes of money from the PSP and cell phones.

the xbox strategy was similar but the 3 year warranty on the RRoD caused micrsoft to spend about 1billion to correct that mistake.

Sony will be ahead of MS much later rather than sooner and I can't see why it won't. The main thing it will sell on is brand recognition and it definitely will sell more in EU and JP in the coming years. Don't underestimate the average consumer.

I don't think there is any way Microsoft can generally lose. They have superb software sales, the best games of the three consoles, an excellent online service, and their hardware sales are up, what, 800% from last year? I think it is very possible that Sony can catch up to MS in a few years with consoles sold, but in my opinion, it wont matter. MS has already won in my book.

360 is gonna win for sure, i mean cmon, how many games does the 360 already have? and if you cant afford the money to buy a PS3 you might aswell buy a 360 in the first place

Yup it does. Sony was loosing more money per unit than any system ever because  of how much was packed into the system vs. how much they had to sell it for.
Sony probably will beat the 360 but realy if they don't do it by next year will it really matter? Not really because the 360 will be in 4th year and therefore be in its downward phase as the leaks of infomation about the next system should be coming out and poeople begin to prepare to move. I would hardly call that a total victory if it did take that long.
The biggest advantage Sony has is the biased Japanese consumer that shuns the 360 making it so MS has little to no sales in that country.

Huh? Sony said they lose 3billion a year on the PS3 and MS says the Xbox turned a profit a while ago.
