Will there ever be a gaming system that plays ALL current videogames? (Gaming Q of the Day 10-10-10)
It will be called an 'emulator' and people will load games and laugh at how lame they are, calling SF4 a button masher and Modern Warfare 2 too slow.
There was a time I never thought I would have played a Sonic game on a Nintendo console. And just over a decade ago, if you told me I would be able to play Perfect Dark and Banjo Kazooie on a Microsoft console I would have called you a moron.
Anyone who says no isn't taking the long view. Give it enough time, and absolutely there will be some kind of machine that plays all current games.
Only when humanity is wiped out and aliens make a historical archive of our achievements.

Sure, in 10 years you'll probably be able to play a handful of 360 and PS3 games, barely. There will be at least another generation of consoles by then too. The key word here being current.PS3 and 360 emulators in a few years as well.
" @Video_Game_King said:Agreed. Duck Duck Goose in real life is like a murder simulator. It's much safer playing it on PC." @valrog said:Beat me to saying "Beat me to it"." You mean like a PC? "Beat me to it. "
@SpikeSpiegel said:" I didn't realize the PC played all games... "You ever tried playing Baseball, Monopoly or Duck Duck Goose in real life!? It ain't pretty. "
